Yeah maybe it was 550 rather than 650

I thought it was 650 but could be wrong

Either way I still think with one year to run on his deal and if he continues to be a bench player who plays between 30-40 minutes the club would listen to offers

I still don’t understand why it’s such a ‘Clanger’ to think the club might try to offload Guerra for his last season? If a club hasn’t much room to move in their cap but need to either upgrade guys or want to make a play for another player they will always look to offload someone.

The main things they’ll look for is someone with 1 year to go (much easier to offload a 1 year deal plus they’ll only have to pay freight for 1 season)

Also the guy has to be on good coin otherwise what’s the point?

The next thing will be whether or not they still need the guy, so looking at Guerra he could be seen as surplus to requirements because he is no longer starting and we have the twins, Herm, Sualo, Jones, Fermor etc.

I’ll give you three recent examples of this happening to similar players at clubs looking to do the same thing

Napa at Roosters

Merrin at Panthers

McGuire at Broncos

Considering the above I can’t see why it was such a ‘clanger’ of a comment ?

If we don't have much room under the cap, punting Guerra who is on say $650,000 per season to sign TPJ for $900,00 would not ease the salary cap position, only make it tighter. And if Guerra was signed by another Club for $400,000 that would be another $250,000 a season down the gurgler.

For mine I am yet to be convinced TPJ will live up to the hype.

Doesn’t have to be TPJ, but there might be another player Brown identifies. Looks like we might need a fullback

Why talk offloading Guerra. How about Sione? Ceiling is hit and it's not good enough. Guerra oldish sure but gives much more then cee. Hudson young anyone. Bring him home.

He plays one game, is a local and you want him back so let’s get rid of Sione, Stone, Jones, King, Saulo and any one else that has stood firm and local based on that game, maybe get rid of old Guerra, Ese’ese not going so well, Safitti twins injured a lot get rid of them but let’s get some new talent,

Geez what is with players these days, another guy gets left out of the 17 and he wants a release !!!!

Surprised we’re still going down the TPJ route, but as Toohey said maybe he gave the impression he would seriously consider coming here?

We've got a bloke named Ponga... he has to go back there now. Mann or Lino at 6.
Mate I’m the first person to say KP to fullback and hopefully after last night that’s where he goes.

I was under the impression the switch wasn’t going to happen due to the article last week where KP said ‘everyone needs to get used to the fact I’m playing 5/8).

If we move him back to No.1 then I think we should give Lino a go at 5/8 see how he goes, otherwise go to the market for goal kicking 5/8

Seriously overrated with dodgy hammies. The moment he lands his one big multi year contract is the moment he goes full blow Dave Taylor/Carl Webb. Goodluck to the side stupid enough to do that.
