Rochow, McKinnon, Cook, Ailaomai, Tetevano, O'Donnell, Likiliki, Mason could all be able to step up next year around origin if need be. We will have no problem fielding a competitive side even with 4 or 5 origin players, and a few other injuries.

And Edwards is nowhere near origin. He needs to develop a bigger motor, and an attacking game. If he can get those things, he seems made for origin. Hard hitter, with plenty of heart.

Which is why i had him in my possible team during the origin Period. I agree that he is a few years away from origin but i wouldn't be surprised to see him in CVC next year. We will definitely have some Quality back up players thats for sure.

I thought i put him there  As for the 9, Gidley, Boyd, Costigan, Uate, Most likely with Snowden, Houston, Edwards (Close but doubt it next year), McManus, Fa'aoso and Mullen all chances. IMO Costigan will be inplace of Lilyman next year.

Snowden could be a big chance for origin, but no way Edwards, and McManus is a definite no, and is Fa'aoso eligible? Mullen won't get in unless Soward/Pearce is injured, regardless of their form.

Can't wait for next year!!! I think we are a realy good chance to win the comp. Especialy when you have a look at the amount of rep players we have.

1 Boyd (QLD and Australia)
2 Uate (NSW and Fiji)
3 Sau (NZ)
4 Wes (Fiji (c) )
5 Mcmanus (Played for NSW)
6 Mullen (Played for NSW)
7 Gidley (NSW Aus)
8 Snowden (NSW, Australia?)
9 Hilder
10 Costigan (QLD, Australia
11 Taia (NZ)
12 Houston (NSW 18th man)
13 Edwards
14 Tuimavave (NZ) Did he actually play for nz?
15 Fa'aoso
16 Kaufusi (Aus)
17 Roberts/Stig

Like others have said Edwards wont be there for a few years yet. Houston, will be hard for him to make it with the Creagh, Scott, Bird, Lewis, Watmough combination already there. And thats based on Gallen staying in the props. Snowden is the most chance, if they look to have 4 props in the squad again or 3 plus Gallen. McManus wont be there again, at least any time soon. Fa'aoso is eligible for queensland i believe, but wont be get into the squad. Mullen will only be there if either Soward or piecre are injuried. NSW will start to look for some consistancy in the spine and stop chopping and changing. Costigan wont be there again, at least not soon. Parker will retain his spot, Lillyman will be replaced by Taylor.

Therefore leaving 3 maybe 4 a previously states

:)

Wouldn't be surprised to see Costigan get back into the QLD team. I'm sure he would've been picked this year if not for his injuries.

If he can stay injury free next season which should be his biggest concern, I have no doubt he'll be playing well enough under Bennett to get selected again.

I could see him getting selected over Parker and Lillyman. Wouldn't be surprised to see Civoniceva hang the boots up from rep footy either. Harrison's getting up there in age and can't play forever either, though I expect him to be there next year.

You guys cant be serious if you cant see Costigan in Origin next year. He'd be a walk up start if it weren't for his injuries this year. Not only is there a possibility of a spot opening up for Civoneceva (Most likely taken by Shillington), but at full fitness he provides more then Parker or Lilyman off the bench. Also, Cronk will work his way into the starting lineup opening another bench spot which could be taken by another forward.

Even if Cronk moves into the halves, 14 will be a Ballin or a Utility players, 15 & 16 Hannant and Taylor. 17. Qld are strong on retaining players and being loyal, and i dont see why they would pick Costigan over Parker, Dallas Johonson probably also comes into the equation.

So yes we can be serious.

Well, saying Ballin will be the utility is pretty ridiculous...Ben Barba maybe, but Ballin would offer SFA to queensland from the bench.

Dallas has been replaced by a younger, superior version in Harrison. And the middle role this year was rotated between Parker/Myles.

Im not saying Costigan is a definate next year, be he is by no means a far stretch. All it takes is an injury or suspension or two, and he would be a definate.

Well Ballin would just come on to play hooker, i know Cronk can play centres, five-eighth, half, hooker etc. but when he comes on he really only gives Cam Smith a rest & plays out of dummy-half, you rarely see Cronk playing elsewhere. So if Ballin was picked i'd say he'd be used in the same way.

Dallas is 28, Ashley is 30 so Johnson will be the one replacing Harrison.

Agree, you'd have to be crazy not to think Costigan will come into strong contention next year for a spot.

In blue.

Tuimavave played one test for the Kiwis, their group match vs England at the 2008 World Cup (aka the greatest tornament in the history of mankind).

Ahh forgot ablout Kaufusi. and yes i know they wont play for NSW but you never know.

Costigan over Lillyman for me!

They rarely replace Smith with Cronk. Usually they just bring Cronk on and play him at lock adding another dimension to their attack.

Ballin couldn't do that. He's strictly a hooker.

I could see Barba there for his versatility and the spark he'd provide. Similar to when they played Bowen off the bench.

14. Hilder
15. Tui
16. Fa'aoso
17. Southern (Cuthbertson If Signed)

Costigan over Lillyman for me!

HUH? I had Taylor already replace Lillyman. HIghly doubtful Taylor wont be there, and he offers more then Costigan thus would be there before him. THe only way for Costigan to make it back is replacing Parker, which Parker deserve to stay in the team, or mass injuries. Even then he would have competition from other guys as well.
