Stadium name

Newcastle Sports Stadium sounds better then Hunter S. S. After all thats the name of the city as is a known name nationally unlike the Hunter. However thats only likely to happen if they dont find a sponser.
 
Hunter Sports Stadium sounds great I reckon! Has a ring to it.

There can't be much chance of them not finding a sponsor though ... the only possibility is if they decide a strong brand for the stadium is more important - rather than changing the name every few years because of a change of sponsor.
 
Whoever comes up with the bucks will get the naming rights.

For you young fellows, the Royal Newcastle Aero Club, which is now at Rutherford, flew out of the aerodrome, and consisted of all the areas mentioned earlier. The stadium was certainly part of the aerodrome.

In WW11 US aircraft used the aerodrome as a base for some time. Can remember a two seater aircraft finishing in the cement drain towards the Gully Line, or the intersection of Lambton and Turton Roads.
 
I'd like any of these:
  • Newcastle Sports Stadium.
  • HSG Stadium.
  • Hunter Sports Stadium.
  • Marathon Stadium.
Any of those, I'd be happy with. :)
 
Turton Road sounds good too but ofcourse we'd only get ones of those good sounding names like the ones Matty said if we failed to get a new sponsor, which I think is unlikely.
 
Looks like the Ausgrid naming rights have expired now ... and the latest Knights press release calls it Hunter Stadium.
 
Oh, sorry. How funny we were both bumping this thread at the same time, given it was like four pages back!!! :)
