Slade Griffin announces his retirement

Think I would prefer Lichaa, has a great running game that he has shown the last few games.

I think would have complimented Levi quite good.
 
The question is..... will Griffin do the job if Levi suffers a serious injury early in the season or would Lichha be better, for mine it's Lichha, Griffin is a strong hard player who covers other positions, not a long term 1st grade hooker, Lichha and Levi are similar. Buhrer would be better at hooker long term than Griffin. So who do we need/want
 
You are 100% right about Lichaa being able to cover better than griffin.

I would prefer Lichaa to be honest, would do a much better job and similar to Levi in playing style.
 
Rein and Licha clearly over priced.

Slade is being brought cheap for 25 mins a match cover off the bench. I hope no one is expecting a star.
 
Lichaa is quality in my opinion. Watching him come through the 20's he was a class above every other player.

He himself has said he has tried to play his natural game which means more running this last month and you see how much better he has been. He has been on a tight leash since playing under Hasler and it's hindered his progression as a player.

I can see him being one of the best hookers in the comp under a coach that's allows him to play with more freedom.
 
Hoping we get Lichaa also, maybe be a bit more pricey but he is the better player and if Levi does get injured he will fill the role of full time hooker better.

People have judged him on his past service at the dogs, but Lichaa has come out and said he was playing how he was told to play at the dogs against his natural running game
 
watching the change in lichaas game over the last month (gone from no running game back to how he played at cronulla) has got me favouring lichaa over griffin. Coincidence his changed the way his playing since talks with browny??
 
Cheap and ok is not good enough, we need quality performance player who can play hooker 1st grade long term if required. What is the good of having 6-7 first rate props and a fill in as hooker, won't win a comp. Let's get real need 25 1st grade players, top 17 then 8 playing cup, 3 backs, 5 forwards -(2 props, 2 backrowers and a hooker) then injuries, suspension are not so much of a worry. As long as stay inside cap doesn't matter who costs what, are they the player we need/want.
