Rumour: Knights looking at Maloney

Good to see Brown is still confident about getting some quality signings. They're gonna have to get moving soon though. With Cronk or Maloney fairly unlikely we should be making a move for Walker or Te Maire Martin they are far more realistic signings and would compliment Lamb well.

I can really see Cronk ending up there, no way Souths could afford him despite rumours. Read in many places there cap is horrific.

Still think jimmy aint leaving cronulla any time soon.

I did hear he was after a upgrade or he will leave when the jack bird stuff was happening... though since then the only news has been Souths

NEWCASTLE have also designed a unique sales pitch aimed at convincing Cronk to play on.

The Knights have told the Kangaroos halfback he only needs to attend two training sessions per week and then play on the weekend.

Most club’s have a “G-minus three” training session three days out from a game.

Then they have “captain’s run” the day prior to playing.

The Knights are also having a big crack at James Maloney.
 
The Sharks look a bit silly now with Maloney when they could have signed him to maybe that $800k figure or even a tad less now they may need to fork out close to $1m.
They best hope they get either Maloney or Cronk as it may be the make or break with Brownie keeping his job at the Knights after next year

Not sure about Josh Reynolds being big average. I think he'd have made a real difference here with his never say die attitude. I know he's not a Cronk type half, but has plenty going for him IMO.

Was going to say he's like Gids on steroids, but that's probably the wrong line to use on here at the moment:D
 
I hope so, but time will tell.

We can't wait for Cronk to make up his mind. And I doubt he will want to play for a club he only trains with twice a week. I think he would be more professional than that personally.

Bulldogs with Mbye has done the rounds for a few months.
Souths with Adam Reynolds is also a possibility
Though Sharks is likely as well.
Just dont see why they would move Maloney on at 600k to sign Cronk at 1.2-1.4mil... the smart thing for the sharks would be to upgrade Maloney to 800-900k for another 3yrs :shrug:

Cooper Cronk is a Brisbane boy born and bred who did his schooling at St Laurence's Catholic College in South Brisbane and was a star footballer at Laurie's, signed with the Storm and then to their feeder Club so his a natural, dyed in the wool maroon.
