Round 8Wheres JSaf? Thought he was back this week
I'm curious to see how Phoenix will go over the next few weeks. One thing we've done in recent years has been match Penrith's energy, up until we face some sort of adversity and let the game get away from us (Barnett send off last year, Brailey and Watson injury 2020).
If this year has shown us anything, it's that the desire and commitment is deeply instilled in this team, though Penrith are certainly hitting their straps after a less than brilliant start.
This will be a great test for us to see where we're truly at, whilst Manly and the Warriors have enjoyed a strong start to the season and were formidable opponents, it has to be said they've had a relatively cushy opening draw.
If we can keep them at an arm's length, and maybe Cleary wakes up with a headache and a sore tummy then we might be able to get a result out of this. But if we can keep them to within 1-12 I'd say we're on the right track as a team.
Brailey stands as a massive loss however, and Crossland's bottle will really be tested but hopefully he can fill the gap for a few weeks while we search for a replacement.
Me too, he still regularly makes mistakes but he is now doing things in between. Playing hooker over the next few weeks will be a test of his stamina.I'm curious to see how Phoenix will go over the next few weeks.
Definitely one that got away.![]()
'Great example': Johns hails hard-working Knights discard Hosking
Hosking will face his old club on Saturday night.www.newcastleherald.com.au
Interesting way to psych out your opponent.
Jack Johns gives an interview about what a great guy and inspiration his junior team mate Zac Hoskings is. He tells stories about Zac showing up late for games covered in paint from working on a building site and making 50 tackles and getting MOTM without doing any warm up.
It was more that he kept jumping in the boat and we'd throw him back unfortunately.Definitely one that got away.
From what I see this year, Bradley has been throwing 20m passes 2 off the ruck to Hastings which clears the ruck a bit and doesn’t get us bogged down in one out hit ups. The test for Crossland will be how quickly and regularly he can land the ball on Hasting’s chest,Me too, he still regularly makes mistakes but he is now doing things in between. Daniel Abraham still randomly posts here as well has for years.I still remember Pete Mata’utia being on here in his playing days (he signed up using his knights e-mail iirc) so I guess you never know who you might be chatting to … so pays to not dismiss them too quickly.
