Round 7 - Knights V Panthers - Saturday 15 April 5:30pm - McDonald Jones Stadium

Simi back in the top squad.
If we need to replace any of our 3/4 line, now that we seem to be playing a power game using our wings and centres as much as our forwards, Simi is probably the next best replacement, just ahead of Lucas.

Myles Martin's profile was added to the firstgrade list today.
He is on a development deal, but will captain our SG Ball team in the first final on Saturday.

Good article where DSaf says it's a good chance to measure themselves against the best.
He also says they aren't training harder, it's just that their combinations are working and they are playing for their coach. He implies the coach was under pressure and he is happy for "Adsy".
Also says he is managing his shoulder injury and will get a cortisone injection in the bye week. He says everyone has niggles now, and his is his shoulder.

One thing we've done in recent years has been match Penrith's energy, up until we face some sort of adversity and let the game get away from us (Barnett send off last year, Brailey and Watson injury 2020).
If this year has shown us anything, it's that the desire and commitment is deeply instilled in this team, though Penrith are certainly hitting their straps after a less than brilliant start.

This will be a great test for us to see where we're truly at, whilst Manly and the Warriors have enjoyed a strong start to the season and were formidable opponents, it has to be said they've had a relatively cushy opening draw.

If we can keep them at an arm's length, and maybe Cleary wakes up with a headache and a sore tummy then we might be able to get a result out of this. But if we can keep them to within 1-12 I'd say we're on the right track as a team.

Brailey stands as a massive loss however, and Crossland's bottle will really be tested but hopefully he can fill the gap for a few weeks while we search for a replacement.

I'm curious to see how Phoenix will go over the next few weeks.

Interesting way to psych out your opponent.
Jack Johns gives an interview about what a great guy and inspiration his junior team mate Zac Hoskings is. He tells stories about Zac showing up late for games covered in paint from working on a building site and making 50 tackles and getting MOTM without doing any warm up.

Definitely one that got away.

Me too, he still regularly makes mistakes but he is now doing things in between. Playing hooker over the next few weeks will be a test of his stamina.
From what I see this year, Bradley has been throwing 20m passes 2 off the ruck to Hastings which clears the ruck a bit and doesn’t get us bogged down in one out hit ups. The test for Crossland will be how quickly and regularly he can land the ball on Hasting’s chest,

penrith are hitting their straps but they still arent the team they were, kik and api are massive losses. i still think they will be far to good for us though and can see them having a day out down marzhew and bests edge.
