Round 4: Newcastle Knights v Canberra Raiders - Hunter Stadium

Credit where credit's due...Snowden played like a machine. The hook could be the turning point of his career.

Well, I'm gonna say it was a good win. Canberra put us under plenty of pressure, and had three or four "almost" tries.

We did look shakey when behind, and that is something we need to work on. We looked a bit panic-struck when behind, but immediately looked confident again once we got back in front in the second half.

Good to see us given a good challenge and respond with a win, though.

Haven't heard Tyrone speak before.

haha he sounds funny.

Plays like a man possessed though.

He does have a weird voice alright! Maybe he was just out of breath?

Nice to see Joel Edwards miss Cuthbertson all ends up for his second try!

Tonight Smith showed me why he is so highly regarded. Canberra were on top at half time and Smith put a stop to it. Once he started knocking them over they had an eye for Smith and the other on the ball.

He's also a filthy grub once he has a player on the ground, but he's our grub.

Agree on smith he is outstanding at getting the opposition on their back and slowing play the ball, can't wait to get Scott back to

Even better knowing that we can only get better from here with Tahu and BJ next week, unless BJ play NSW to get some fitness back?

I think Wayne will keep Quinn tahu to centres mckinnon to the bench BJ Nsw cup for match fitness

Was a good game, not the best. We looked strong early, couple missed opportunities on the right side. Fell off when McManus had to come off, looked lost on the left without him. Not sure why he even came off, they had him bandaged and thought if it was for stitches they could of did it at half time. Mullens kicking game was good in the first 20 and last 40, seemed to be a bit off in the final 20 of the first half, but still not bad. Still a great game, and another good score to put on our home record.
Bit worried about our defense with the way the Dragons played with their take no chances attacking football, but I still think our attack will be better.

One thing with Quinn is my heart isn't in my mouth when the play goes his way. He's very unlikely to let anyone down. Uate on the other hand when the ball is sent his way via a kick I reach for the sorbent.

What a game!!! So impressed with their performance tonight. I'm glad it was much closer, our last 2 wins have been absolute slaughters so it was fantastic to see them under pressure and get into a grind and still come up with a great win. Now we know we can flog teams as well as grind them out when we have to.

We were amazing for the first 25 minutes, no doubt we lost our way when Gidley and McManus got injured and we gave away some dumb penalties and lost the ball but we fixed that straight away in the second half and did so well to finish them off. The repeat sets and defensive pressure were awesome, we lacked things like that so badly last year so it's good to see we're doing it this year.

OH MY GOD HOW GOOD WAS SNOWDEN!!! That's what we're been craving to see since we signed him! WOW!! Mullen was once again outstanding and Cuthbo had the game of his life, was also impressed with Roberts (loveeee that dummy of his) and Smith played well too. EVERYONE DID!

Uate started well, I'm not too fussed by his fumble, it was extremely difficult to take and the drop from the bomb I'm not worried about either, we all know he's not the best and I'm pretty sure a few Raiders players dropped a high ball too and so did Boyd so let's not skin Uate for a mistake every winger and fullback makes. The only thing I was about confused about was the way he just stood there the entire time Raiders had the ball to the lead up in the Thompson no try, he seemed so disinterested but I'm sure he knew what he was doing. Other than that he had a good game, strong runs and a nice try as usual.

McKinnon was p*ssing me off for a while, he was really good defensively but there were at least 2 times he could've easily set up Uate untouched for a try. I wouldn't complain if he was our centre again next week but he really has to look for Uate more, he did cost him a hat trick tonight I have no doubt about that. BUT I know he's out of position and we still won and he did still play well so I'm not too bothered now.

I'd like to see Gidley get another go at hooker next week, he was forced to play out of position after 10 minutes and suffered a concussion so he never got the chance to show us how effective he and Bedsy can be together.

Speaking of Bedsy, no freaking way that was a shoulder charge. Ferguson was charging straight at him and turned his line at the last second, Bedsy could only brace himself for impact. He never stuck his shoulder out and lunged at Ferguson, all he did was just braced his body for impact and going by the refs decision to not even penalise it, it's obvious they thought the same thing which is definitely the right ruling. He has no case to answer.

Great win once again boys, 3/3 at home and up nice and high on the ladder. We get Tahu back and maybe Leilua and looking for a 3rd straight win before we're back home again. SO HAPPY!!
