Round 4: Newcastle Knights v Canberra Raiders - Hunter Stadium

If we turn up and defend like we did last night I definitely reckon we could beat them 13+.

Knights 30
Raiders 10
FTS McManus
LTS Mullen
MOTM Roberts
Crowd 19,267

I am sorry for this but I couldn't help myself I was just looking around last night and found this it is a comment from an unknown raiders fan and as far as I am concerned its fair game.....I don't believe I have ever heard something so......Well I'm not sure how to describe it I'll let you guys dissect it...

"Looking at the Knights team we have to face, surely there would only be four that would make our squad: Darius Boyd (although he's a pussy), Uate, Jeremy Smith and Tyrone Roberts. We couldn't move Robbo, Uate could replace Sandor, Jeremy Smith is a walk in for most teams and Roberts is a bit better than our guys at this stage (but he's no major star). Their best players are injured, and they played awful for the first few minutes last night, but came good. It's going to be 24 degrees with a chance of rain; good that it's not too hot. What are we worried about?"

There are some real stupid people out there.......

Haha

Boyd >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Robinson
McManus >>>>>>>>>>> Dennis Rodman
Tahu >>>>>>>>>> Croker
McKinnon >>> Fergo
Uate >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wighton
Mullen >>>>>>>>>> McCrone
Roberts >>>>>>> Williams
Snowden < Shillington
Buderus >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Buttris
Mason >>>>>>>>>> White
Rochow = Papalii
Houston >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Edwards
Smith >>>>>>>>>>>> Fensom
Gidley >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Berrigan
Faalogo >>>>>>>>>>> Tilse
Cuthbertson >>>>> Picker
Sims < TLL

Dead set 14 maybe 15 of our players would walk straight into their team, not even including guys like Scott and Gagai. Bored of this now.

I don't know whether its arrogance stupidity too many barcardi breezers on the roof or a mixture of all the above  I'm going to go all the above

Comments like the one this idiot made will just make our massive win on Sunday that much better....Can't wait :D

Hard to believe where their salary cap goes really. An injured Campese and pineapple cruiser, and 250k Joel Edwards

Thats what I was thinking if you look at their squad they have some talented young players but no real superstars who would rake in the the big bucks campese hasn't played much in 2 years, Shillington's ok I guess, Ferguson is a tosser, Dugan's gone, McCrone and Sam Williams ok with occasional flashes of brilliance, White's done nothing since Melbourne, Papalii and Wighton sound prospects, Learoyd - Lahrs hot and cold, Fensom great defender no attack, Picker's nothing, Croker can't tackle, Tilse ok sometimes, Berrigan Past it or never had it which ever one, Buttriss not 1st grade material and Edwards wasted at that club.....I think that sums it up

And yet they finished well ahead of us last year, and won a final - something we've managed once in the last 12 years! :P

I can't stand the Raiders myself, but I think some are underrating their players a bit.

Shillington's an Australian prop, he's easily one of the best props in the world when he's in form. Better than what we've got.

Fensom, Papalli, Robinson, Ferguson, J Thompson, Williams and Wighton are potential stars. Fensom should be in Origin, he's much more than just a tackle machine. Papalli will be close to a rep jersey soon .... We'll need to contain him on that edge. Guys like Ferguson and Robinson also have the X factor to pull any teams pants down, too.

In saying all that, I think the Knights will beat the Raiders comfortably based on what I've seen this year.

It depends which Raiders side shows up ... they are just as inconsistent as us (although they're "on" more frequently than we are). There's every chance we will not show up and the Raiders will. If both sides play to their potential then it will be a tight tussle.

I think the low rating of the Raiders is a bit off ... they are actually more dangerous with Robinson at fullback and seem to be getting back to their 2012 form now their distractions are finished.

Just hope the players don't take them lightly, we saw what happens when they do that against Manly.

I may be wrong with my assessment of the raiders but honestly I don't rate them maybe in 2 or 3 years if they can keep these young players together then they will be rated amongst the best but at the moment I don't see them as much of a threat as always just my opinion and if It I do end up being wrong I'll put my hand up.....Knights by alot...at least 30

They've had the same young players for years now and they seem to only be going backwards. I've seen nothing from them so far this year to suggest they're a dangerous side but that can change quickly for any club. I agree that they're much better with Robinson at fullback over Dugan but I think we have the right to be confident in this one, just by going off form and the line ups.

Some injury news.

Tahu eager to put best foot forward
- Tahu is ready to go wherever Bennett wants him - centre or second row - but he hasn't trained for the second row in pre-season.
- Gidley and Mason will be assessed at training today.
- The Knights are awaiting the results of scans Beau Scott had on his groin on Tuesday.
- Tahu says he was lucky his foot was a four week injury and not a six month injury. He ran at training yesterday.
