Round 4: Newcastle Knights v Canberra Raiders - Hunter Stadium

Some injury news.

Tahu eager to put best foot forward
- Tahu is ready to go wherever Bennett wants him - centre or second row - but he hasn't trained for the second row in pre-season.
- Gidley and Mason will be assessed at training today.
- The Knights are awaiting the results of scans Beau Scott had on his groin on Tuesday.
- Tahu says he was lucky his foot was a four week injury and not a six month injury. He ran at training yesterday.

Thanks for the update James.....Big news about Tahu there we are lucky with that one and hopefully if everything goes according to plan we will see Gidley and Mason line up to take on the Raiders....Bit worried about Beau Scott hope it's not too serious luckily I think we have the depth to cover him

I am sorry for this but I couldn't help myself I was just looking around last night and found this it is a comment from an unknown raiders fan and as far as I am concerned its fair game.....I don't believe I have ever heard something so......Well I'm not sure how to describe it I'll let you guys dissect it...

"Looking at the Knights team we have to face, surely there would only be four that would make our squad: Darius Boyd (although he's a pussy), Uate, Jeremy Smith and Tyrone Roberts. We couldn't move Robbo, Uate could replace Sandor, Jeremy Smith is a walk in for most teams and Roberts is a bit better than our guys at this stage (but he's no major star). Their best players are injured, and they played awful for the first few minutes last night, but came good. It's going to be 24 degrees with a chance of rain; good that it's not too hot. What are we worried about?"

There are some real stupid people out there.......

What a goose lol. The only player in the Raiders line up that would walk in to the Knights team is Shillington. Even if Joel Edwards was still here he'd be stuck playing reserve grade, I'm glad he's gone.

I would try and make room for robinson as well
And if i didnt hate him so much perhaps ferguson

Boys training for Canberra today.

Can't find knight in focus for beau Scott but can't believe more people arnt concerned, the bloke has signed on a big 4 year deal with a groin problem history and has done it after 3 rds. Big concern for mine depth or not this is a marquee player and one of the differences to the squad that ran 12th

yeah but mckinnon is a year wiser. He looks about 2 years stronger. And looks much better for last year. plus with all our second row depth and prop death you could have willy move out wide or what ever. The team seems to look tougher this year so far.

Bloody important game. Inconsistensy has already hit us with great results and a terrible one. Must get rid of it.

For the fans!

I know it's way too early to call it but IMO this is a must win game. Not because of qualifying for the finals but if we can't win these games, we can't be considered a genuine premiership chance. Just like the theory used by Man U, we can lose to the top 3 teams as long as we win all the games we are expected to and this is one we should win easily

given that the last 8 games have been decided by at least 22 points i think 30 is a pretty good chance

I don't think anyone can stand loosing to those *****s It still burns in my memory and I'm sure in your memories too last year round 14 at home we were expected to win.....we got a bit of a touch up 32-16....This must not happen ever again we must win the games we are expected to if we don't we will never be a premiership threat, a top 4 side or never beat the top sides.

I was just watching the Bennett interview on the Knights website - he says Tahu's a centre and won't be playing second row ... it sounds like he'll get eased back in off the bench and McKinnon will move to the second row when Tahu comes on.

McCrone the cocky red faced little ******* says he's going to shower Uate with bombs since he's got bad hands and Wighton/Ferguson are going to out-do him. He's also unfazed by Gidley and Mason lol.

I remember the last time a Raiders player tried to challenge Uate in the media before a game, Vidot going on about how he's not going to let Uate in, he can contain him and give Uate a taste of his own medicine. The next day Uate ran all over him, made a stack of line breaks, scored 2 tries and MacDougall schooled him too haha

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for this game!!

Uate's only bad under the high ball when he's down on confidence.

Chances are anyway that McCrone will fluff the kick because he's crap and Uate may go 100 and score, lol.

**** McCrone he couldn't make first grade with any decent team we better smash these *****s we'll show them what a Good NRL team can do...****ing amateurs

Haha agreed!!

Anyway, news is Gidley and Mason will have a final assessment tomorrow but it's likely they'll both be given another week. And they're looking into alternatives to help Scott's groin as surgery will put him out for 2 months. I swear he's already had surgery in the off-season for that??

The Raiders must really hate us because there's always one of their players talking trash before the game.

I swear Ferguson said something last year, too.
