Chris Randall has been very close recently.
If we had lost last week I think Brown would have left Levi in reserves and used Randall, but he'd be crazy to bet our season on a rookie.

Brown mentioned Randall as an option in an interview today or yesterday.
 
I understand Watson over Levi, Mann covers Levi to Cup, Watson injured, season success on line, got to keep winning, surely coach tells Levi go out and win us the game because I ain’t got anyone else. It’s a no brainer, Levi is out and out the best hooker/dummy half in the club, Watson offers something different but injured.
So who is 9 this week, Levi, Mann, Buhrer, Randall or Woolford, you pick.

Brown has mentioned debuting Star Toa at hooker.
 
He turned 18 last week, so he's as young as Sione was on debut.
I thought the rule was changed so you had to be 18 at the start of the year now, but obviously they either never brought that change in, or they went back to the old rule.
He is certainly physically up to playing seniors, but you have to wonder if he has enough experience for firstgrade.
 
Does anyone in the coaching Staff realise that the season is on the line and that Blooding a Rookie no matter how good would probably be too much of a gamble at this stage of the season.

I wish him well and I hope we win convincingly , cause the effects will be dire if we lose, for all concerned.
 
Best isn't on a development contract, so he can't debut unless they can still give out the 1 unused development spot we have.
 
If they do use him, he hasn't played 80 minutes in a game all season, and maybe not in his life due to junior games being less than 80 minutes, so i'd assume he will replace Sione in the centres, with Sione likely to replace him if and when he goes off.
 
If he plays centre you would think blokes like Musgrove and co would be filthy. Plying their trade against seniors whilst best playing juniors leapfrogging them.
