Kind of thought we might get a bit of backlash from the players about Brown , I guess they are just showing how they feel ...Kinda thought this might happen a lot of these guys came here because of Brown .

Brown having some jokes and hints about where he is going in the pre game interview shows he has clocked off for the season, as have the players.
Brown will probably do a stand up comedy routine for post match.
 
Was thinking of checking out a few close wineries to fill in time if we get there early enough on Friday... not that I’m a wino, but I might still have to try smuggling a few bottles in to get me through the game next week

Never understood why Pearce cops so much, sure he's one of our highest paid, but he's also one that leads kick chases nearly every time, does little clean up things, and makes a few one on one try savers.
And sure the odd kick can be ordinary or he drops it but the guy gives a 100% effort. It amazes me people don't see this, and without him we are closer to bottom four then top 8

About a tie with the video refs for who was more pathetic today. First two Tigers tries were pathetic decisions. First one was a line drop out and worst, no way it was grounded before Hunt did.
It is concerning attacking players are 'accidently' getting in the way of the defending catcher without an eye for the ball these days. Tupou did the same thing against the Raiders two weeks ago and it was awarded a try. Hope the refs put a stop to this.
 
I'm not inclined to hang Pearce.

He is doing it all himself in this squad. No real support at 5/8 that would be in any other NRL team. A coach who can't coach offense at all.

Ponga - Worst game I have seen him play for us. I would not be surprised if he holds right off on extending his contract and sees what happens next year with the new coach. If we don't get ourselves sorted early, we could see a mid season swap to another team happening as he just won't stay around to play in this sort of team. I wouldn't blame him.

Yeah, his effort was horrible, and this game may be the game he twigged that his future is better off elsewhere.
 
I will give Best a bit of a wrap, he did not look out of place at all, in first grade, in comparison to Sione who has played first grade for five years. And wasn't far off scoring a try in his first match on his second touch. Although it's not surprising they targetted Sione's side as opposed to Best's side with the way he was going.

The winger scored three against Best. But I do agree that Best has lots of potential

Not sure why people are worried Ponga. He is still contracted for another two seasons which is more then enough time to develop a rapport with the new coach.
Although I'm not sure what the rule is about teams being able to approach him after November 1st if he hasn't activated his player option and thus extending his stay but I guess if the Union money is too tempting there's not much we can do.
So realistically next season may be make or break for the new coach depending on how soon after Nov 1 Ponga makes his decision.
Current Nov 1 system is rubbish and out of date anyway but the NRL don't seem to have the brains to change it.
 
I feel sorry for Sione in attack, he was actually quite good tonight. The first offload to SKD was definitely on. Had some good runs, got around his man. Offload in the second half was just dumb though. Many poor decisions between him and Lino in defence though, and a lack of shifting defence.
