Round 19: Newcastle Knights vs Wests Tigers

We were right in that game for the first 60 minutes , we even bombed 3 try's and if we had scored those try's I bet the last 20 would have been completely different .
That was against the 2nd best team in the comp even the commentators said the Roosters are playing there best footy this year and that was in the first half ...
Were not quite as polished as we were in the winning streak and we seem to be pushing things to try to get that rhythm back . Maybe they should just go back to having fun and the rhythm will come naturaly .
I think were missing Fitzgibbon badly , he attracts a lot of defenders which opens holes for the playmakers . He is a barnstorming back rower who scores try's and tackles hard as well , imo were missing him a lot which says how far he has come .
 
Quite simply we need confidence, we don't have a winning culture to fall back on, get a big win against the tigers and we could very well get back on track.
 
Our second row is lacking both in defence and attack, agreed we miss Fitz as he is strong, breaks the line and attracts defenders making room. Barnett is a strong player but misses a lot of tackles, doesn’t always break the line but can offload something most of the pack lacks.
With Fitz out we have tried Buhrer and Sione with little success so that leaves trying Guerra, should be fit, Ese’ese if he can adapt or Jones who has been a long term reserve grader who goes well. We need more punch/oomph in our forwards.
 
There is way too much wrestle in today's game. Ruining the whole aspect of defence imo. Scooting from dummy half is pretty much null and void now.

Even Fitz wasn't setting the world on fire for mine, opposition had woken up to him massively.

8 missed tackles and 34 made and only 64 metres run

Klemmer made one less tackle,33 and missed none
I get defending out wide is different but barnett is well below par

Sione for some reason only ran once

Guerra put in 80 minutes in reserve grade, but he was gassed after 20 and hung on for the rest of the game - the commentator- Soward I think, said he had talked to him before the game and he hadn’t expected to come back so soon from his injury so hadn’t had time to return to full fitness yet. Getting a HIA a few minutes into his second game back wouldn’t have helped either.
He might be ready after putting in 80 minutes and training for another week, or he might not be.
 
Well this should be fun.

our highest winning percentage by ref is gavin badger (may of changed since someone posted the stats last season). if theres 1 ref who loves a crowd penalty though its badger, he seems to look after us at home
