Anyone know why Jake Saifiti dropped out of the Fiji game?
Maybe he doesn't want to get injured when on the verge of making firstgrade again.

Toohey's News:

Minor ankle and wrist injuries and not his brother's Origin debut are the reasons Jacob Saifiti is not playing for Fiji against Lebanon at Leichhardt Oval tonight after being originally named. "I would have loved to have played but it was in my best interests not to," he told us. The upshot is he will instead fly to Perth with the rest of his family, including his mum and grandparents, to cheer Daniel on.

I didn't watch too closely but Hunts D seemed very good again.

Gavet was very strong. I still think him n Ese off the bench is our best rotation.

Linos knee was rubbish.

Boyd is clearly a snake in the grass there and no doubt is a terrible influence, if he isn't dropped at some stage I'll be suprised.

Has that same sneaky look on his face he had before he went completely rogue on us.

If anyone but Wayne wasn't coaching the Knights when he was there, Boyd probably would have only played five games because he'd be dropped for the rest of them

Gavet was massive. Put on plenty of good shots and carried the ball hard. He needs to start off the bench every week. Ese has plenty of impact too.

Hunt didn’t get much ball but was solid. Lino has plenty of aggression which I’ve not seen before but struggled.

Every week we play some team who have their reasons for rising against us. It's either they had a good win and in form, or they are out of form and they will turn it around against us. Every team, every week can belt us if we are off and they are switched on.

Thats the game! Knights have to look after themselves rather than worry about what the Broncos are doing.

I agree, and other then the storm loss our winning streak has been exactly that, the Knights playing to their ability, and focussing in their side of things, not doing stupid crap etc

Garvet was awesome.
Ese took a bit to get going, his going sideways a lot im noticing which isnt a good thing.
He does this skippy hoppy thing which I don't enjoy. Takes away all momentum in his runs. Just hit it straight and hard. Much more effective.

Interesting reading the comments in regards to the game as I didn't see it. Looking at stats esse esse run for 124m compared to gavets 54m . Gavet did top the tackle count so I guess they were doing a lot of defending during gavets stint.

Yeah,it gets my goat as well, I wish they would just put their heads down and blast through them
It used to annoy me but Herman seems to be pretty quick and has good footwork for a prop which keeps them guessing a bit. For example if he ran at big dan using his speed and footwork it makes it harder for dan to tackle him if he run it straight at dan. Big dan would destroy him.

There's a difference between jinking at the line and skippy hoppy as soon as you receive. It loses all his momentum.

Interesting to think about how we use Dan Saf after he showed a different side in SOO.
We obviously ask him to do reasonably long minutes, so he has to save some energy where he can.
In SOO he was clearly asked to go hard and was taken off as soon as he ran out of puff.
Basically, he was given the role that Gavet plays for us, and he bent the hell out of the line at SOO level.
Dan going as hard as he can in 2 20 minute spells in club games would cause a bit of trouble for opposition sides.

1 thing i noticed was that he made to to the 20m line off the kick off to start the game and pushed 4 qld players backwards.
In comparison Klem got driven backwards and put on his back on the 10m line to start game 1.

Dans second run off the kick off he did it again.

I counted 13 times that he was a decoy runner which is a lot in 34 minutes of footy.

I really hope he plays game 3 and starts with Klem and gets the opportunity to go flat chat for 15 minutes to demolish the qld side early.

Dan also pumped Napa 1 on 1 which was pleasing to see.

Jake Saf did the same for Fiji in the world cup. He came on for short minutes and went as hard as he could, and he made a mess out of a few sides with his hard running.

Yeah fair enough. Some of the comments were about him going sideways. He seems to run a bit sideways looking for space before charging seems to work for him he has been making good metres the last few weeks. I think he even set up a try.
