No chance and I doubt his name will come up
I thought there was no way they'd pick Daniel before they picked him, and it worked out pretty good because he lifted for the big stage.
I won't say Freddy will pick him, but dipping into that well has proven to be a good move before, and he might give it another whirl.

Was it just me maybe thinking after the game that our centres/wings seemed out of position, was it to accommodate Jones at centre.
Hunt and Tuala played right with often Hunt appearing to be centre and Tuala normally a left side player.
Young and Jones played left side despite Young be predominantly a right side player.
Understand that Young and Jones had positional problems but was a late change with lack of familiarisation with each other but for all that the four of them played well.

6 Forwards ran for over 100m and 2 of those ran for 200m
Huge win up front today

Helps with a competent kicking game from Clifford, we arent on the back foot all the time running the ball from our own line in to the teeth of the opposition D that always lifts in that zone.

And how good is it having a half that can secure repeat sets. Again, makes the forwards do less D, so more gas in the tank to carry the ball.

Yeah barring Hymel we had the same problem getting yards out of our own end today from our OBs, but Jake bailed us out of having to do too much of that work. And i feel like the Saifitis, especially Daniel, got back to do more work out of their own end than they usually would. Nice to have fresh legs eh.

Interesting thing about the Aitkin try is how much ground Dom Young made on him.
Dom gave him a big start and had to sprint past Mann and Brailey to get to Aitkin.
Aitkin isn't in the top tier of speedsters, but he's no slow coach either.
It seems to take a lot out of Dom to get that big body moving fast, but in the trials he showed he is capable of scoring long range tries when he gets in the clear.
He looks like he loaps along most of the time, but has an extra gear if he needs it.

Yeah I'm still trying to decide about his physicality aswell. He seemed to get pushed back a lot but at the end of the game he nearly broke through the line. I'm not sure if he is not that strong or is still working out the step up in the speed of the game and physicality and can go up that next gear.

I'd say it's a fitness thing.
He's just a kid and will get more fitness to go hard for longer minutes in time.
Last week he was missing in action after halftime and we had Mann and Tuala trying to do all the work. This week I thought he was there for the whole game, but still needs to be able to go hard for longer.

Also clearly growing into his body and runs into contact like he’s been used to being the biggest kid on the field his whole life and can just knock guys over. Will need time to get used to running into bigger men who are more effective in contact, and will need to refine the way he hits the line, he’s a bit too upright atm.

Have a feeling too that things will get a bit easier for him once we have Ponga, Best & Frizell back. The way the Warriors went after him, you can tell they saw him as a threat. Won’t get as much attention once he slides down the “threat index” or whatever.

Funny to say considering how big he is but he's still got plenty of filling out to do. Doesn't really have the physicality to excel at the tough hit ups yet.

From watching him in NSW Cup he's already very good in attacking positions as a right centre. Give him early ball 20m out and he'll be able to draw in multiple defenders and flick it out to the winger if he doesn't just carry them over the line himself. That's pretty much nullified having him sit on the left wing. It's possible the coaches aren't confident in him defending at centre yet.

Ideally I'd have him at right centre with a metre-eater and strong defender like Hunt outside him.

Crazy to me that we’ve won six out of 15 and are two points out of the eight (albeit in a big logjam and worst placed for f+a).

Shows how lop-sided the company is this year.

Maybe we will buck the trend of fast starters and finish strong for once…

Hoy contributed to this with his crabbing across to centre field kick return. Practically just ran the ball in field without gaining any yardage.

Should have been tucking the ball under the arm and running it back hard to A) get us away from being hemmed against our line. And B) Giving our forwards less distance to get back onside and get some hitups rolling.

Its the difference between tackle 3-4 having most troops back onside, and tackle 2.

Instead, we got pinned, making it a cinch to monster the ball runner, and the set was nearly over by the time we got organised again.
