Round 1 team.

Not sure where to put this, any Newcastle locals give me opinion on what it’s like doing day trip to central stadium? Thinking of coming down from
QLD for warriors game and doing day trip from
Newy, cheers
Central coast stadium?
Central coast stadium is about a 300 metre walk from Gosford railway station, about an hour or a little more by train from Newcastle. It's across the road from Gosford leagues club if you want a drink or a feed before or after the game.
If you are driving, it's an hour down the M1 to the Gosford turnoff, and the stadium is on the road into Gosford about 3 klm from the turnoff.
Parking is near impossible if you get there late. There is a commuter carpark very close, but it fills up well before kickoff.
If you are coming down just for the game you could stay in Gosford CBD and walk to the game.

Went to the opening of the stadium back in 2000 and was able to boo John Howard! Knights played Northern Eagles which we lost. Foggs used to take coaches for Knights away games but in your case ASJ82 drive down the M1. Go early and have lunch at the Central Coast Leagues Club across the road from the stadium.

Interesting quote in this article from Barnett.

He thinks Green will become the team's onfield general.
That's a fair kick in the arse for Pearce if that quote means what it seems to mean.

I read that and thought the same, then remembered the immediate impact Green had when we brought him to the club and thought why have we been paying Pearce soo much over these years?

And yeah, train to central coast stadium is the go, parking is horrible in gosford.

If you get there very early the parking is brilliant - free parking 50 metres from the ground - but leaving is a nightmare - 4 levels of parking all trying to get out the same driveway onto a busy road, all at the same time.

The old chestnut is that the great players have time, but even when Pearce is going great he is frantic.
We paid him the money to produce the form he did in 2018 and part of 2019. I guess we will know pretty soon if he's cooked or not.

Owey, totally agree with your post covering the make-up of the bench. The selection of the 14 appears the only unknown selection. I have an inclination that Crossland will be selected to either come on and play 5/8, so Mann can give Watson a spell in the middle, cover for Brailey if required or if there was an injury in the backline he can provide cover. It is essential with the HIA rules that we have cover for 1-7. This will not be an issue when Green returns and Mann most likely goes back to the bench.

Jack Johns is on the development player list, so either rules are different this year or we just don't have enough fit forwards to cover 21 spots.

They have half the reserve grade side listed on NSWRL and it looks like a Flegg side - Young, Kiraz, Sasagi, Matt and Harry Croker, Ticehurst, etc etc.

Crossland not yet listed in reserve grade - so maybe the concussion he left the field with needs a bit more time.

That backline really doesn’t strike fear into the opposition.

Forwards need to steamroll the dogs in which they are definitely capable of doing and you’d think they will.

I think the backline will fire. Even with Shibashitty in it

Best, Toa and Tuala are heavily reliant on the spine to feed them the ball but that might not happen when your number 1 and 6 only know how to run it and not really ball play.

They should have plenty of time and space though with that forward pack laying the foundation.

Report on the Herald site saying Crossland has been fined and suspended for an altercation

I think the forwards will **** up the Dogs pack and there’ll be plenty of opportunities.
