Yes, these characteristics are typical of old Wayne. I have never rated him. He is a good coach of great players, but bog average coach of average players. We have plenty of those in clubs in the NRL atm.
Listen to a replay of old Wayne when he heard Tinkler offered him $1m plus to coach the Knights. All of a sudden he really liked what Tinkler and co were doing at the Knights.
And as far as him walking out on his wife and children(some children with disabilities), I thought really gave me an insight into his character.
