Peter O'Sullivan Appreciation thread

His work history says he will move on after 3 to 5 years - which I think is OK because we largely have the squad signed for the next 5 to 10 years and it's up to the coaches now.
His job here is 90% done and should be 100% done by the end of next year.

He said on that other podcast he did that he hoped Newcastle was the last club he works at.

He seems as good as any at identifying young talent so I hope he does stick around long term.

It is interesting how super low key certain figures at the club is public/media wise is. Don't really hear a peep out of Peter Parr (which isn't a bad thing) or anyone unless there is a signing/re-signing.
I assume POS reports to Parr and Parr reports to the board? And everyone else in the football department/scouts or whatever reports to them two?
 
After the way the forwards performed against Chooks and Broncs I was fairly high on our chances of making some noise in this year's finals, let alone 27/28. Until last week when we got bullied (by a good and desperate pack to be fair). Roosters and Sharks are there to be beat if we have a good day. Panthers without Yeo maybe? Warriors (especially if Jackson Ford is back for the finals) would probably be too good

Think a huge part of that vs the Raiders was the way they went all in on Marzhew. Three or four players on him almost every time … meant our sets were off to a slow start, and they could muscle up from there. Really showed how valuable he is to us.

Will be interesting to see if a) other sides try the same thing, and b) how we adjust, because if there’s that many players on Marzhew then there’s gaps elsewhere on the field.
 
Yeah the Wahs look devastating through the middle. But we have had success by just holding on, kicking long and long range attacking raids. Could that work out?

Damn I hope JSaf returns on fire. He has to be.

What really impressed me is how we adjusted in-game. I thought Dom stepped up, and I thought Hunt upped his workload beyond what you'd usually expect, by a lot. Mooney & both edge forwards I thought hustled back to get onside for a yardage set run a few times in the second half. And we used the space in yardage that we got from 4-5 defenders swarming Greg on the previous tackle rather than continuing to try to break down the wall. Smart footy & I'm glad we got presented with that challenge in the regular season instead of in a finals game vs a better team.

Someone needs to show Dom to get the ball near the adline, hes terrible at getting it 5m behind and then losing ground. IF Marz gets monstered and then he does that it gets our set off to a bad start. Better off quick scoot out of dummy half
