Pacific Championships 2025

This game as had some exciting moments, I love international footy 😍
Also Samoa bombing that try would have been heartbreaking for the fans than to concede points, thats got to hurt

Unsurprisingly Brown has earnt the most fantasy points for the game, best man on ground
Two try assists and the match winning try. Samoa had so many more opportunities but their halves didn’t do a lot with it, and dropped the ball two certain tries. Kiwis definitely struggled with the size of the Samoan side but executed with their few chances. Brown a huge part of it, he’d be my MOTM.

Scratchy at times from both sides, but you’ll see that in the first week of any international tournament, these players haven’t seen each other for a year. Really entertaining game. Wish they’d take a Kiwis game to another part of NZ where the Pacific population isn’t so big and they could actually get some home support lol.

Both sides need to step things up if they want to beat Tonga.

Can someone tell me how this comp works. There’s 4 rounds. Fiji, Cook Islands, and PNG only play each other. And NZ, Samoa, Tonga only play each other. How do they work out you plays the final?

There's two divisions, so Fiji, Cook Islands and PNG will have a final between the top two for the Bowl, and same for NZ, Samoa and Tonga for the Championship.

Would have been great to have a four team top division, imo ... Fiji would have fitted in well with NZ, Samoa and Tonga. Then you'd have got two games a week between that group, as well.

There's two divisions (of three teams), based on current International Rugby League rankings. The top two sides from the first division play the final, while the top side from the second division plays the bottom side from the first division in a promotion/relegation game.

Thanks James

Teague had another good game for Cook Islands - topped the tackles with 46 - played 80 minutes - second highest fantasy points.
He started at lock but the hooker was injured after 30 minutes, so he did 50 minutes at hooker again.

I hope he finds another team, or we give him another year on a second tier contract.

don't usually watch the boring old sports show on ABC on Sundays, but I was looking for the cricket score this morning and flicking through and Roy Masters made the very good points that no northern hemisphere side will make it past the group stage for the first time in next year's world cup.

The lightning break, that’s rare. Dunno how RTS survived the penalty and sinbin on that bombed Tonga try.
