I still think Willie Peters is the one that ticks the most boxes. Taking Hull KR from outside the finals when he arrived to 4th, 2nd and now leading the comp with a Challenge Cup under his belt this year is more impressive coaching than anything Green, Holbrook or Young have done, and much more applicable to the challenges he'd face at the Knights than what Holbrook had when he won with St Helens. He has the connection of "knowing the club/players" from being an assistant coach here recently while still being a "fresh voice."

Anasta's comments don't scare me off. If he didn't want the job it'd be very easy to just say it's not the right time/opportunity and that'd be the end of it. He clearly is interested he just doesn't want to undermine his current team at the pointy end of the season by publicly being part of this process. For mine that's more of a plus for his mentality and professionalism than it is a negative.

i don’t know Ennis’ role at Manly but i would be looking at him for a role on our staff now he has rejected to re sign… ex newy boy, adds some dog into our side and can help development of 9
Going on Ennis’ involvement in other clubs and they subsequently going backwards, I would prefer Ennis never to be in the same postcode as the Knights.
We have a far superior hooker mentor in Danny Bedurus at the club without going backwards with Ennis.

We don't know what goes on behind closed doors, but the fact that some players are openly endorsing Blake Green must mean something. Surely the players want the coach that can give them wining game plans/coaching and again we don't know how much free reign Green has had as the attacking coach or was he restricted to AOB's conservative grinding approach.
Sometimes we hear players talking about like playing for certain coaches and I guess there are 2 sides to that.
If players at a successful club are saying that and mention man management, then that coach obviously knows how to get the best out of the players as people and athletes with a connected and supported game plan that works with good results.
If players at a not so successful club mention effective man management, then does this mean there is lower standards at training and results don’t matter as much as they are going to get paid anyway?
Just a few thoughts regarding players that have come and gone at the Knights, and other habitually bottom 8 clubs over the years.

He was interviewed recently and the topic of the knights came up, he was full of praise for town, junior pathways and the club itself, very strange coming from him and got me wondering if he had maybe already been approached to join the staff in some capacity.

I would rather not see Ennis anywhere near the Knights in any capacity.
His track record where he “consulted” with other teams is diabolical.
He is full of hot air.

I remember a few years ago on Barry Toohey’s podcast he spoke very fondly of his time at the Knights. Was cool to hear, not something you hear him discuss much since he was only in first grade for us for one year. I was a big fan of what he did with us in that season, but if he wanted to play hooker then he didn’t have much choice but to move on. Definitely no hard feelings on my part, always rated him highly as a player.

People have some weird ideas about commentators … most get bagged out for being negative and criticising us … but they’re generally saying very similar things to what we’re saying watching the game lol.

Yeah they hate how much we suck to watch. Couldn’t give us a warm enough tongue bath during the winning streak in 2023. I really don’t think it’s personal.
