If we are throwing hypotheticals out there you know who I’d love to see in our coaches box? Cooper Cronk.

How many times a game do you hear him make a call and in the next play or minute it happens like he orchestrated it all like some magician? His analytical mind for how the game works is frightfully good.

In saying that, you can s*** in one hand and clap with the other for all the good wishing for Cooper Cronk would do. 😭
Agree on the Cooper Cronk dream. I was only saying the same thing to my Physio yesterday. He's a Storm fanatic. The things he picks up and shows during the Matty & Cronk show, I think most players and a lot of coaches would miss. Reminds me of things Joey picks up, but the difference being Cronk could become a coach. PS Still hate the Storm with a passion though.

Reading the posts and listening to podcasts re Ponga wanting Green, makes me want the club to steer away from Green more now. It brings back memories of when Ponga apparently interviewed with Bennett to go to the Dolphins. Bennett was critical of Ponga's effort areas and said he'd have to step up if he went to the Dolphins, Ponga took the easy road and stayed at the Knights. I like what old Buzz said when he said he wants to see a coach push Ponga out of his comfort zone. Make him earn his 1.4mil, would Green do this? Sounds like Green and Ponga are pretty tight.

This is whole narrative that Ponga took the easy road by staying at the knights is the most bollocks argument if ive ever heard one.

Bennett loves Latrell who is famously in and out of games more than Ponga. Plus he is a suspension risk with some epic brain farts. KP has carried out team in many many games. Feels more like Wayne was butt hurt he couldn’t get KP over the line.

He took the easy low effort road so much that he won the Dally M with us the next year.

i believe Bron will open up space for him next year, would love Smith also doing that. Although Sharpe could add an additional line running threat that may give him space also

Also I don’t really get the narrative that staying at the Knights is taking the easy route. What’s more challenging than trying to win a comp at the Knights? I don’t believe for a second that KP is happy losing, who would be?

At the same time you’ve got people also saying he wants to win a comp so he’ll have to go somewhere else. Which is it, he’s happy cruising or wants to win a comp?

I really don’t get the criticism, a lot of players in his position would never have come here to start with and even fewer would’ve stayed.

People constantly bemoan the juniors that have left and happily gone elsewhere but criticise KP who is the person that’s kept choosing the Knights.

Yes he’s well paid but he was going to be well paid anywhere he went. Kind of feels like he can’t win no matter what he does.

JSaf talks up Green. Says he understands the lack of experience may be a factor but talks him up as a man manager and says he thinks that's something they need.

This would be the biggest red flag, players endorsing an assistant that is part of the rot we have had at this club.

I'm off the firm belief we need a fresh face at the club that can drive standards and shake things up.

First thing for me is removing KP as the captain and appoint one based on training, standards etc.

100%

I'd be extremely surprised if KP is removed from captain by the next coach, on arrival essentially.

I could see him being co captain, but completely dumped, no.

The new coach coming in needs to firstly win the club over that they can make positive changes and be able to deal with the playing group, personalities etc. I can't see a coach coming in and saying they going to dump KP as captain. Nor can I see them not saying it, then pulling the rug from KP.

Especially if Green is such an attractive option because he is popular with the players. You think Green is going to remove KP as captain, such a radical change? No chance.

I can see the new coach wanting to get the best out of KP, and utilising a game plan that uses him more effectively, along with Brown and Sharpe chiming in. If that happens, KP will be far more respected and then, why would you have dumped him as captain?

Peters not wanting to be interviewed to coach here, fair enough, must not want the job badly. Move on.

And on JSaf endorsing Green as he is a good man manager which is what they need, factoring in AOB possibly not being a good man manager which I think we can assume here, the players still haven leaned on Green, Green hasn't been able to influence the team effectively, and if he has, he still can from the same position next season with the new coach, who hopefully is a good man manager so win win.

TLDR: Holbrook.

Yes based on this narrative I’d love for our next coach to go tell Moses and Haas that they’re taking the easy way out at their current clubs. Not gonna challenge themselves and sign with the Knights? Pff … lost all respect for them!

KP also said he was really annoyed at the comment because Wayne doesn’t know what goes on behind these walls. In the Dolphins documentary, they show Wayne immediately after the Ponga meeting, he said something along the lines of that kid got me all fired up. Think there is way more fire in the belly of Ponga then anyone likes to admit.

It’s funny you see a lot of people on social media complain about good players not wanting to sign here but a lot of them seem hellbent on driving the most talented player we have out the door because of his pay as if it’s coming out of their pocket.

Maybe let POS worry about managing the salary cap since that’s his job and he has a lot more experience than just about anyone else.

No doubt Brown can probably look forward to the same treatment too.

We don't know what goes on behind closed doors, but the fact that some players are openly endorsing Blake Green must mean something. Surely the players want the coach that can give them wining game plans/coaching and again we don't know how much free reign Green has had as the attacking coach or was he restricted to AOB's conservative grinding approach.

You can put your house on Brown getting an absolute pasting on socials, and on here if he isn't killing it. Based on his salary cap value.
