Official: Knights sign Kalyn Ponga on a 4 year deal

No 88! Posts deleted from today! Yes one of them was directed at you, which I hope you read, because I am sure you would have enjoyed it! I love the banter and for the most part enjoy your input! This is a forum and should be administered in a transparent and equitable fashion, just like the bunker!

I seen it mate

Jesus christ, why does everything need to turn so personally on here these days? You're literally arguing over footy. It's a game, nothing more and nothing less. Why can't things just be kept civil? We all have our own opinions, not everyone agrees on them but that's what forums are about - discussion. Insults, degrading others etc is really not needed. Just to add, I've been on this forum for 7 years now and I think @jamesgould, @Jekk, @rhugh89 and @josh2010 have done a great job to keep this place alive and up to date with everything going on in the rugby league world. It's not like it used to be but it's still one of the best forums in our game. If you don't like someone's posts or someone in general just ignore or block them or better yet agree to disagree.

Have u spoken with the mods about a system u think could be of a benefit to the forum?
I was a moderator for about 10 years on LU and developed a few systems to manage the trolls on that site. Drop threads and the fight club were both my original ideas - and dealing with the Union trolls in the international section was a big job I can tell you.
I was one of the original 7 members of LU (or Legends world of sport as it was known before LU), and as the only Knights fan, I started the Knights forum there. For the first 3 months it was basically me with 4 different user names writing replies to any knights fan who showed up, and if no one showed up, i'd write replies to myself and start new threads.
The point is, I did my time as a mod, and it was a pretty big job then. I just want to post in peace now.

U replied to urself ?
U have a whole new level of respect from me now :p
Maybe u can jump back on the mods desk and see what changes can be made to ( hopefully bring the site forward to where some view it should be )
I think the forum is fine... though i have some thick skin and dont really care whzt peoplethink or say about me at all.

Had to.
If a fan checked it out and it looked like a dead forum, they'd just move on, so till I got enough members I had to write new threads every day, and do a dozen or so replies every day.
Actually, I got in the habit of starting a new thread every day, and the whole time I was a mod there I'd find an article or something to base a thread on every day.

People should realise it's a forum and a bit of banter isn't a bad thing providing it's not personal and no insults thrown.

The moderators do a great job of not over policing the place but know when to pull people up when they cross the line.

Also for everyone there will always be haters or people who dislike you unfortunately, it's a part of life. The only thing you can do is ignore them. You get them in real life too and it's best to just pretend they don't exist :)

@Kenny Powers is gone for a fortnight at least, from what I've seen (and I can only go off that) he seems to be the cause of almost every dispute on here. Which I think the majority of us are sick off.

@Chief Longhorn if you have a problem with a post then report it or PM the mods. We looked at the post you reported the other week and none of us could see a problem with it, sorry. The amount of posts we've been deleting recently it's not possible to notify everyone of why, but it is usually mentioned on the post itself.

Everyone else take a chill pill! It's a place to discuss the Knights, not world war 3. If someone disagrees with you that's just their opinion, and can we please respect other's views, it's usually all subjective.

Fingers crossed we can move forward from this without anyone else getting their marching orders.

Sorry about my outburst last night everyone, Going through a few personal problems atm and the pressure finally got to me

Once again I'm sorry and hopefully we can move on

I think it was fine and needed to be said!!

Chin up.... things always work out in the end.... there are possitives in every tough situation

Haha good banter, I enjoyed the read ;)
We all need to relax a bit and enjoy a bit of rivalry, when it gets personal then posts need to be reviewed etc, don't just delete posts if we don't agree with them lol
Just putting it out there - if anybody has any issue with me feel free to let me know how you feel now and we can discuss any bad blood. It's just an online forum, nobody should be taking anything personally

I think we're all at fault abit tbh. I tend to analyse things Cowboyman says and deem them as a trolling attempt or pisstake when they're likely just his opinion. I do think he likes stirring up a few select members though and Sometimes goes too far.

As for KP and 88Knight that's abit of banter but it does get grating.

One thing I'm sure of though is that the admin do a top shelf job of everything and shouldn't have to make more changes to the update they've recently made (which by the way I think has been a great improvement) and we can live with using the ignore system and try to put a limit on the pointless pissing contests that a number of threads have turned into.

Cheers mozza. I don't know Coyboyman outside of this forum, but to me he just seems like a quality guy. Maybe I'm more used to having friends who support other teams, I dunno - everyone in NZ pretty much supports a different side. But I often can't believe the nonsense that he gets posted at him. It's quite depressing really.

As for the block function, I don't know if it's possible, there may be an add on for it. But yeah, I agree ... I would hope we don't really reach that stage, and can sort things out before they hit the point that it's needed. I'm sure we can work on it collectively and end up being all friends here! :)

Oh and as for the Lord, in the interests of full disclosure I am facebook friends with him, but I would recommend not taking any announcements from him that he has become the new admin or that a forum shutdown is taking place too seriously!

This laughing smiley is terrible by the way.

I personally love lord... i think he is it it to chit stir as much as have a proper convo on any matter at hand, ive had a few pm's with him just to get to know him a lil better and would love a few coldies with him one day..... although id say he could sink a few the big unit.

You do a great job as a moderator.
90% of being a moderator is to make sure relevant topics get covered and information is available, and you kill that.
Some people see the main role of a moderator as being a disciplinarian, and that's actually a tiny part of the job, and the part I always hated doing. In fact, most of the job is fun, and bossing people around is the opposite of fun.
You do the interesting and informative job of being a moderator as well as anyone I've seen, and that's the part that makes the site good.
In my experience, anyone who actually likes the discipline bit turns out to be a forum nazi who should never have been a mod anyway.
