Can't believe Gidley has been dropped to the bench just to accomodate the most overrated player in my opinion Jarrad Hayne.

Lets face it Hayne is good in attack but is absolute s**t house in defence (just like he leaked tries in game 1) as he cant read plays and is always late to arrive.

Gidley is a much better all round fullback and he should be starting and not coming off the bench.

Its an absolute joke that the captain has to start off the bench.

Gidley can play Hooker fine, he did a great job replacing Cam Smith in the anzac test match. My problem is, how can you be a captain who's only going to play about 20-30 minutes of football?

If we lose, they will still find a way to put blame on Gidley, he is just nsw excuse for losing each match.

Wait, where are the going to inject Gidley into the game?/What players will shift around

Gidley will come on for Ennis in the last 10-12 minutes of the game. Thats a laugh, a team thats captainless for 68 minutes. Oh by are we gonna lose big time.

Thats real pathetic gidley captain from the bench, just give the captaincy to barrett. Or take off ennis and put gidley at hooker.

They obviously feel for Gidley so don't want to strip the captaincy from him.

He will play about 60 mins I reckon. Cant see Ennis getting much time with the form he's been in lately and no Kimmorley around.

If they Lose who will the blame this time?, Bellamy??,Barrett,Perace??, Cause they sure as hell can't blame Kurt on this one!

One can only hope he gets that much game time.

Hayne . They'll no doubt find a way to blame Gidley like they did last time.

There is no way that they will only play Gids for only 10 minutes, thats just riduculous... My Guess would be about 50-60 minutes.

I really feel for Gidley, what an embarressing situation to be in. If the NSW selectors weren't going to stick with him at fullback for the whole series then they shouldn't have put him there in game one.

How is the team going to respect their captain when he's off the bench ... they might as well have given it to Barrett. But mind you, who is going to respect Barrett, when he couldn't even make the side for game one. It's just opened a can of worms I reckon, and could easily implode!!!

The side looks very good however, I wish they had have picked this team for game one!!!

Gidley has made history, the first NSW Captain to ever be benched. Not something he would be pleased about, poor guy. I don't think he is a rep fullback though, there just is no room for him in the starting team.

Should have made Hindy the captain. Kurt would play much better without the pressure of captaincy.

Theres plenty of room for Gids in the starting team. Even with him not at fullback

And anyone who says this is a good team is fooling themselves. Its even worse then Game 1

While the centres are good cos there defensively stong and offer enough attacking abilites the wings offe very limited attacking due to one being a defensive right centre.

Whos gonna respect the VC and starting Captain when he couldnt get picked for game one. The halfback is coming into a losing team that absoltely must win in enemy territory and will have that mountain of pressure on him.

The props are both slow and bumbering and have been off form in origin, and will find it hard press to make hitups and metres when they dont do it that well at club level.

The hooker is only showing average form and the main advantage to him being picked is gone with Kimmorley out.

The bench is the worst part. You have your captain on the bench who will only play 30-50 minutes of the game and wont start. Who would respect a captain that cant be on the field at kick off. And the team will be greatly understrength when he's not on the field.

Theres no PROPS ON THE BENCH. he have one SR/Forward who actually plays most of his time for club in the 2nd row. Meaning either one prop will need to play 80 mins and neither can or a SR will have to play Prop which is stupid. Furthermore you have Hindmarsh and O'Donnell on the bench as impact forwards when they are not that at all. They should have been the starting second row with Creah and Waterhous fighting it out for the impact 2nd row.

This is the worst picked Blues team in the games 30 year History.

I don't think there can be much doubt he's a great captain, and the best man for that job.

And it would have been hard for any fullback behind the hopeless packs he's been behind.

But I'm sad to say I agree, mainly thanks to his big errors like taking that ball dead last year and getting stripped by Thurston this year.

Yeh I'm with you on that one James.

Being captain off the bench just shows that selectors are remaining loyal to him but would you say its better than stripping him of captaincy all together? I personally would have played him in the halves...just having him more involved in the game would be beneficial to the team.

It just depends on how many minutes Gidley plays though. If he plays say 60mins+ i'd let him keep the captaincy, if he played less then 60mins, i'd give it to Barret.

A captain speaks all week... and is going to miss like 30 mins of game time and it's time to get rid of him.

It's no different to him getting injured on the field.

Most of the team should be leaders now anyway. Ennis... Hayne... Cooper... Gallen.

No different to a forward at club level starting for 20 then coming off.
