Offical: Manly Sign Uate for 2 years

The young guys will make huge improvements in the off season, because that's what young guys do.
Mataora, Paea, Bird and our halves have either peaked or are on the downhill slide.

I don't know why people have trouble seeing that. It happens every year.
Last year the Saifiti brothers must have improved 30 or 40% in the off season, as did Lamb, and the year before that Levi went from a 40 or 50 minute NYC player to a guy who could play 80 minutes in reserve grade and 60 in firstgrade.
This isn't rocket science - you put 20 year olds into 60 hour a week training and they make huge strides.

I think Mataora has a fair bit of development in him and will be get better over the next couple of years. He's just starting to find his feet.

the reason i put Bird on the edge is his D, hole running and offload.
he will stop points down one side, and create a lot of chances.

Korbs is a bigger body and has great leg speed. can be very damaging as a lock where he can pick and choose where to run, middle or left or right edges.

Guess you have to look at it as where he will improve the team the most, depends who else we sign and the best balance of playing who where to aid the team the most. For example if we were to get Vaughan that changes the whole dynamics to what we have.

I'm still 50 / 50 on Korbin. I'm happy for him to have another year to live up to all the hype. He has the ability if he wants it bad enough.
Korbin is a real worry. He should be filthy with his performances this year.

Needs to lift big time next season.

It's like they go through life thinking they have to make grade to get the sufficient pay day then relax. Korbin n taz that is.

He seriously has 2 maybe 3 big runs a match and that's it. Work rate is dreadful, shame as if he lifted his fitness he'd be a genuine first grader.

Korbin on $400k would be an ideal swap for someone like Douglass who we'd get for about $300k on a 3 year deal. I am sure Dragons would happily grab Korbin as well.

I don't care if Korbin stays or goes but Mataora should be in front of him in the team because he outplayed him all year as did D. Saifiti .

The thing is you can't be playing short minutes with these interchanges unless he is going to come out and run every ball up at his fastest pace. I see what you are talking about being damaging out wide but I think lack of fitness and footwork will keep him out of an edge jumper.
yeh he does need to work on fitness , needs to play atleast 40 solid minutes either in the middle or out wide , can't have blokes playing 20 with the interchange , and at the moment that's all his good for. Hopefully our boys have a big pre-season

id have korbs at lock

8 D Saifiti
9 Rory
10 Signed player/ Mataora
11 Bird
12 Sione
13 Sims

14 Levi
15 J Saifiti
16 Barnett
17 Mataora/Pauli/Paea

personally id like Sione back in the centres, his running can be awesome out wide if he gets more ball there... D is still a worry.
I'd leave Sione in the back row , the way the game is played now is that centres have the least in involvement on the field out of everyone , i think he can be a massive player for us in the backrow

That's all we can hope for. I like the size of the bloke but for me he is an impact prop. Good leg drive and sneaky offload.

Well his has earned roughly 4mil in ten yrs, dont think his to worried about the money in England when he will earn 485k in Australia next yr no matter what.
