Yep you are right, 14 needs to cover hooker....so why are we putting Crossland? His passing is horrendous and he offers nothing.

Just a really condescending comment. Crossland isn’t playing well but we all know his really the only guy that can play hooker. Once Mann is fit again Crossland will be out of the side but whilst we’re battling these injuries he’s clearly got to be in the team.

I still remember last year Phil Gardner wanting to bring him on as a assistant coach.
AOB quickly shot It right In the ***, he said he wanted to be the one making the decisions about that.
Starting to think AOBs time should be up, seems like he doesn't have any answers.
We should go for Flanagan before dogs snap him up, but knowing the club they won't make a play.

Ok, Crossland covering hooker at 14, hooker is/was 9 but the way it is played nowadays he rarely if ever goes into the scrum, mostly sits at the back, traditionally 13. Basically he follows the play around and takes the feed from the tackled player and passes to whomever. Or kicks or makes a run.
hookers don’t win the ball in a scrum any longer.
So why is it so necessary for the 14 to be aligned to hooking duties when basically what he has to do is follow the play, pass, kick or run.
Any half back or clever crafty player can do the same as long as in defence they can tackle..
For example would a spine of Ponga, Milford, Clifford and Randall not work with Clune at 14 and if Randall needs a break or injured couldn’t Clifford go to 9 and Clune to 7 and have as good a result as Crosslands at 14

Was obvious at the time that AOB viewed Flanagan from the pov of risk to his job and not whether or not Flanagan would bring value. Because he obviously would've brought value. It also explains why AOB pushed so hard at the time to bring in Seibold.
Gardner should've trusted his instincts at the time. Who knows where we'd be today, couldn't be in a worse position.

everyone who makes the simi/hoy should be utility argument seem to forget that the game is 50% defence. sisagi isnt up to in the middle and hoy would be an absolute speedbump with a massive target on his back defending in the middle.

Sasagis defence is improving he was our top tackler against a very experienced forward pack in nsw cup last week and that’s his tackle percentage in cup where he plays predominantly in the middle.
