(NSW Cup) Centurions Discussion 2010 Thread

There's been plenty wanting Mika and Naiqama in first grade ... of course you can't judge individual performance just from the scoreline, but it's not going to do their chances any good.

It's safe to assume they didn't have blinders!

Wingers performances are mainly based on how the team is going. And as for Mika, as long as he is putting in week in week out, I would have no worries him playing FG, shouldnt be dragged down just cause the reserves arnt playing well, he has proven he is up to NRL standard.

And frankly id say this would have to be one of the worst reserve grade sides in my memory. They may be good young players, but there is no experience what so ever. Looking like putting the players in the Newcastle league is probably the better option, get them with some old heads im sure there are still running around (ex-players and just players who have been playing grade locally their whole lives).

I don't know what's up with that side that played on the weekend. No Abraham, Lulia, Ndaira, Ciraldo ... I guess Ciraldo is 18th man for the Knights, but you'd have thought he might as well have played - the others must all be injured, I guess.

Gee 70 - 8 thats pretty poor, hopefully the selectors will swap the naqiama brothers brothers around and put kevin in 1st grade, i think he is an awesome talent.

Keith Lulia is a late inclusion for this match:

So far it's 6 - 0 to the Magpies.

1st Minute: Players on the field here at Leichhardt... Central Coast kick off to the harbour end and Wests have first use of the pill

4th Minute: a relieving penalty to the Coast and they are in Wests territory for the first time

6th Minute: both teams have been trading penalties to start the match, and once again the Centurions receive this one and find touch 45m out

10th Minute: TRY to the Magpies as George Keppa links up with a flying Gus Aiga and he puts it down with ease out wide. Chris Corby slots the conversion and Wests will play from in front today!

14th Minute: Central Coast have their first real chance but a high towering bomb is defused by the Maggies and they bring it out for a 20m restart

18th Minute: almost a try to the Centurions but brilliant defence by Wests bundles Simon Williams into touch

Try to Kev Naiqama, trailing 18 - 6 at half time.

25th Minute: so close for the Maggies as Andrew Pearn is over the line but held up and then on the next play a brilliant Waters grubber just had to sit up for Everingham but he copped an awful bounce and couldn't control it over the line

27th Minute: TRY brilliant run by George Keppa who eventually links up with Ben Falcone who easily scores under the posts and Corby converts to make it 12-0

31st Minute: TRY a nothing kick really from Waters sits up perfectly for a flying Kevin Naiqama who breaks the line and.... put down the glasses, you won't catch him as he runs 60m untouched to put it down under the posts. Ndaira converts and it's back to 12-6

35th Minute: getting a bit scrappy as the break approaches, a try either way could be real important here

37th Minute: TRY a brilliant down field kick return by Waters eventually sets up Aiga for his double as he places it under the posts. Try converted by Corby and the Magpies lead it 18-6

32 - 22 to Wests with 10 to go!

48th Minute: Wests looked destined to score but some stubborn Coast defence repelled it... but for how long?

53rd Minute: TRY great work by the Centurions and fullback Jimmy Fawcett crashes over for the Coast. Converted by Ndaira and this game is up for grabs as the score is now Wests 22 Central Coast 12

59th Minute: TRY great break by Joel Burraston who draws and passes to Joel Edwards who crashes over under the posts. Try converted and all of a sudden it's 22-18!

61st Minute: TRY a mistake off the kick off is punished by Wests who answer straight back as Josh Davies scores and try is converted by Corby and the lead is back to 10.... 28-18

65th Minute: TRY it's a try-athon all of a sudden here, this time the Centurions turn as centre Simon Williams goes over in the corner. Conversion hits the posts and bounces out so it Wests 28 leading the Centurions 24

69th Minute: TRY fair dinkum, my fingers are about to fall off! End to end stuff here as defence is no longer required. Chris Corby barges over from dummy half. He misses his kick and the score is now Wests 32 C.C 22

just wondering, what are your thoughts on the logo and jersey? -

Logo isn't bad. I could come up with a better jersey.

They look like a team from Argentina.

Parramatta played in a jersey in those colours once, in about 1996, to promote M&Ms, and they were mocked for years afterwards.

Unbelievable to see a guy like Tyler Sullivan starting five eighth, two years ago he was playing in a Harold Matts Semi final.

No Ndaira or Lulia in this one either. With the amount of youth, it's no suprise these boys cant pull wins together.
