NRLW round 1 v Roosters Thursday 25th July - 7.45 pm McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

Well they couldn’t have given them more chances but goal line defence was awesome.

Thank god they had Kelly at 5/6 she’s a great runner but not a ball player.

If we’d just held the ball a bit could’ve won a lot easier. Strange they’re not normally that dumb, that’s usually the realm of the men’s team.

Jessie really improved her defence.

Glad we have until next Saturday until our next game, coz that must have taken a bit out of us.

Great start to the season! A very intense game, brought out some errors in both sides, but our defence was definitely the over-rising theme of the game. Plenty to build on, and set completions will be a big focus in round two, I'd say. Roosters had points where they rolled through us quite easily too. Our attack looked great on the rare occasion we got in range, and we had breaks from our own half as well. Bring on the rest of 2024!
 
Think they more than earned the win with the defence but obviously a weird one to celebrate considering how it ended. Cut down a few dumb errors and the finish is a lot more comfortable.

Overall thought it was a very positive round 1 performance.
 
Roosters put up a very good effort.
The players I thought would really test us - Boyle, Kernick, Sergis, Kelly - we handled pretty well. The rest of their players were a lot better than I thought they'd be.
I don't know who the Roosters play next week, but I'd back them.
 
Great win from the girls first up,our goal line and scramble defence was outstanding, but going forward we need a little bit more impact from the front rowers other than Caitlain if we going to go for the 3 peat.
Hopefully just the start of the year and they build but gosh we gunna miss her next year.

Jesse showed Kylie Hilder in person that she should have been NSW 7 with her defence and great kicking game
 
Man that second half was beyond frustrating. They really should have gone on with it easily. Roosters forwards held on better then I was expecting. Got some serious power there.

Cheap hand over really hurt the second half and I actually thought Georgia and Jesse should have had much better games in attack. Upton looked very frustrated most of second half.

Very lucky to get the win, but I feel we were way ahead of them for most of game.
Joey saying roosters were the better side. Deadset he’s a freaking turnip. They had double the possession in the 20 and barely came up with an attacking play.

Rest up girls and keep that killer mentality. Just do some better execution and give Tamika better ball.
