NRLW round 1 v Roosters Thursday 25th July - 7.45 pm McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

[jamesgould]

That's about the best of the half, Parker!!!

[Battler]

Early candidate for butchered try of the year.

[Lefty]

It’s lovely to have Joey commentating on the game.

[Kurriboy]

A bit sloppy with the handling, great defence though held them out.

Roosters bombed 2 tries though, especially that last one, just had to pass it and make sure of it.

[Beatell]

What a great defensive half! Loving it

[jamesgould]

I have to admit I thought there'd be more commenting here and more at the ground.

I've been looking forward to this all week lol.

[Billy]

We will need to keep going - the Roosters are fading a bit, but still look dangerous with the ball.

Yeah as amazing as that half was, we must be starting to get a bit fatigued. Think we might have seen it in the final few minutes of that half.

Yes, duel premiership winning team who play attractive attacking football but are excellent defenders as well. Can’t expect anymore!

[Billy]

we could run a KOTW vote to see who comes second to Upton

[JOJO82]

Hopefully the men are watching this, great display so far and solid defense

[Matty James]

Maynard is a very handy back up to Higgins. She’s a goer. Butler looks a whole lot fitter as well. Parker been in everything.

[jamesgould]

Ok, we get it, we can defend ... let's just keep the Roosters away from that region now lol.

[jamesgould]

Argh running it on the last ...

[Kurriboy]

Bad challenge, accidental offside regardless.

Gave them a good breather and they kept the challenge, I'd say that's a win!

In the end yeah, but I don't think Upton was thinking that strategically.

Gallagher is fantastic.

[mullenmagic]

Constantly amazed by Gallagher's IQ for someone who hadn't touched a footy before last year

They might have been thinking about the break, but yes keeping the challenge was definitely an unexpected bonus!

[Celticman98]

One thing I've already noticed. Jesse Southwell has a better kicking game than Jacko Hastings.
