NRL Round 9 - Knights Vs Rabbitohs - 2:00pm Sunday, 3rd of May - McDonald Jones Stadium

Brown never lifts his legs/weight off the ground and is only swung around by the momentum in the tackle (ie not by lifting his legs). He'll be unlucky to cop a fine imo..although who knows with the NRL Judiciary Chocolate Wheel.

These are the sort of wins that you can really build on. Really promising that we didn’t drop our heads when we went behind late in the game, just kept fighting and found a way to get ahead. Really think it’ll be a huge boost for the playing group, doing that against a top side, as well.

Are we the only team yet to play a night game? ( Our first is not until round 14). Current state of the game + a dry daytime track is always going to see more points conceded, better completions and more ball in play. Our current points against may be skewed abit by this?

I don’t read comments on here while game is being played, to busy watching, getting anxious, cheering and complaining but through all that some of you should go back and read your comments made.
Yes bad plays, mistakes, refereeing errors, forward passes, they happen on both sides, sometimes one side more than others. Decisions don’t matter quite as much if you are well ahead, in charge, BUT, when game is close, seesawing, then every decision is argued, protested, probably on both sides which all adds up to the excitement of will we or won’t we win, We will win some we shouldn’t and lose some we shouldn’t but as long as the team tries hard and gives us hope of success. If we win I am happy if we lose I am sad.
Today I am HAPPY

He doesn’t have 2 brain cells to rub together. He only gets a gig because he’ll say something stupid about one of his 3 million enemies and create headlines.
Yeah he was saying multiple times how it was like watching Joey pass to Gidley then to the wingermultple times then when Marzhew scored a few in the first half he said where was that at the titans…like you dumbarse mate you guys let him go for someone younger smh lol
Like literally the definition of adding nothing to the commentary

After letting the dust and my feelings settle. We did well to find a couple of clutch moments when it mattered despite all the running going against us.

Defensively I'm not super worried about how many points we conceded as it seems to come with the territory of PVL ball, I think this season will go on record as the most points scored ever.

Latrell turned it on in the second half which definitely didn't help, but we showed grit and character to wrestle the win back despite everything going against us in the final 20.

Now onto a stretch of very winnable games heading into Origin where the top teams generally tend to falter. This season could be anything!

I was worried how many points we letting latley but seeing tigers get 50 put on them and alot of clubs getting smashed...seems like its one of those high scoring seasons/fast paced games
Fatigue is naturally a much larger factor this season. The ball is in play so much more with the new set restart rules so in the back end of halves there's a lot more fatigue setting in, which seems to be when a lot of points are being scored.

There was an interesting moment just before the second half kicked off. We kicked off, so Gags was lined up 10m our side of half way. Latrell came and stood opposite him the other side of half way and absolutely gave it to him verbally for half a minute. Gagai was giving it back, then Latrell jogged back to a deeper position with a big smile on his face. I took this as Latrell making it personal with him, I guess I was right to worry.

Have to say it’s amazing how close Latrell got on that final play, watching live I thought he was miles away from getting it down, but if he’d managed to hold onto the ball he was there.

It definitely seemed personal, I think Gagai was going for a big hit a few times and got fended off into earth orbit.

Was very relieved when he finally went lower down for the tackle right at the end.

What a game of Vlandy's ball!

I didn't get to see the game live as I was down at the top fuel. Caught the score at a club on a tv screen.

Was wondering what sort of game I was going to watch, one team leads the whole way or a sea sawing lead changing affair.
We lead virtually the whole game, only to need a big effort at the end to take the win.

You see that scoreline without seeing the game and think both teams had a defensive shocker but I thought Souths certainly cut to pieces by our attack, not so the reverse. Souths scored a couple of lucky ones, still though I am sure coach will want the defence tightened up.

Awesome seeing that defensive resolve on that last play against Latrell and Cody running in just sour grapes knowing they lost the game right there. Sweet salty goodness.

Had to laugh at the ref to Ponga, you have to lower your contact I think it was, just lol. Was he penalised for tackling too hard was he? I didn't see any other reason for the penalty.

I said earlier in the leadup this one was winnable, the next 5-7 or so are very winnable and we could start a bit of a run here.

Looked like we got through fairly injury free which is awesome.

If not for an injury crisis, we could have been right up the top end of the table and being talked up big time in the press. I'm kind of glad we aren't up there, takes some of the glow up effect off the team, they could just start to believe their own press a little too much. This way they have to be in the trenches scrapping for every win, exactly where I want them.

Bring on Saints

It was "reduce your force" a day before star wars day. Happy May the 4th.
