Also for those who attended the game, anyone notice how they don’t play Morgan Evan’s “Long Live the Newcastle Knights” after they won? Same with how they don’t play “Better” by the Screaming Jets when the Knights run onto the field in the first half.

I noticed that at the last game too..it's like they've changed the DJ!

I know we talk about it every week but seriously how good has Graham been off the bench, he has really helped our attack and is making a big impact when he comes on. It will he hard to leave him out going forward.
It will be interesting to see how the team changes when Brown and Ponga come back because even Smith has just about earned a starting role given how well he has steered this team around and more or less made it his own but you just cant leave our superstars on the bench.

The atmosphere in the last halfa at the game was absolutely electric. The boys were getting it from the crowd and lapping it up. All the old boys in the box had the biggest grins I've seen in a while. Great win and I thought the refereeing was good for both sides other than the hair pull one.

Gagai must read the comments here questioning whether he should go around another year before going out and putting on those sorts of performances. Could squeeze out another two years in ESL but whether he would do the move is another question.

What a great performance!

Seriously one of the best efforts I’ve seen live in a long time. Was a high quality game of football against a side desperate for a win and we thoroughly outclassed them.

Our middles have been exceptional. J Saf has been the best FRF in the game for the first 5 rounds. Friz has turned the clock back and Crokes is in career best form. Saulo looked like a dud signing after a couple of games but he’s been immense the last 2 weeks. Mooney has probably been our weakest middle overall but is still doing a good job. Reckon they’ve taken all the preseason criticism of them to heart and are loving proving those critics wrong.

The outside backs were strong as always too. Don’t care how old Gags is if he wants to keep playing give him a contract. He’s improved every year since he came back. I hate our players getting picked for Origin but he should be the first player picked for QLD on form. He’s always been a better player than Holmes and the gap is getting wider by the week.

Some really class touches from Hunt, Sharpe and Smith led to points. We still look clunky at times but adding Ponga and Brown’s class to the type of effort we saw to day is pretty scary for our opponents.

Crowd was heaving today. Bloody shame about the limited capacity. There won’t be a spare seat in the house for Penrith in a few weeks.

Prefer blocker to gould. Gould has to soap box his superiority complex all the time. Blocker whilst saying some dumb things, genuinely commentators from the love he has for the game.

I watched the 9 replay when I got home. I can’t stomach Voss. Speed has turned into a pretty decent caller too tbf.

That’s pretty extreme to call the lot of them bigots. I like listening to Vossy call and Block was ok today. If you want a perfect commentator well I don’t think that exists.

Fox commentary has been negative towards Newcastle for decades. Fox have never recovered from Chief taking a bus load of Knights players to Sydney to sign with the NRL in the Super League days.
It is also no coincidence that weak charactered Fox commentators love to dog ride the Knights at every opportunity.
It is disappointing listening to their one eyed commentary.
We all have control over our remotes.

The way I see it they are paid for their opinions and to comment on the game.

Virtually everyone's opinion of the Knights is they have been a bag of garbage for that decade so seems natural the commentators will share that opinion.Over that decade we have won 4 wooden spoons lol.

For mine they just echo what we say on this forum.

They’re a bit kinder to us than we are on the forum tbh.

Channel 9 commentary is unwatchable. Dom clearly has his arm held, on a ball he could have easily caught and brought to ground; it's a clear professional foul, IDK what the refs are supposed to do there. Any other decision is biased.

And yes, Mooney wasn't checked much, but it clearly and significantly changed his lateral movement and prevented him from filling the hole that Hosking goes through.

The rule isn't, "was it a big obstruction?"

Channel 9, mainly because of Gould, is a classic for wanting to throw the rules out for some vague and subjective interpretation of the "spirit of the game". IDK why they do it, to fill dead air with mindless, contrived controversy? But it's actually not good for the game because now the Raiders fans feel hard done by when they weren't.

Agree with a lot of this, and yes, old Gus does tend to say some silly things about the rules, which could well be from too many head knocks from his playing days.
BUT he is not nasty, personal and anti-Knights.
That makes a difference for me.
