NRL Round 4- Bulldogs Vs Knights - 3:00pm Saturday, 28th March - Accor Stadium

The Raiders game had terrible weather but there was no excuses to beat the terrible Dragons in the dying stages of golden point.

Had a quick look. They have 100 pages on their game day thread!!! Anyway, more slagging of their own team, have lost to a **** team etc…..Funniest posts I saw were AoB stats and how crap he is. Averaging 15 points per game in the 3 rounds against “****” teams.
Well they aren’t wrong about that last part. Still not sure why they would sign him as the attack coach. I’d also say they haven’t looked anywhere near as good a side as when Sexton was their halfback

Great game/result, first half awesome with many outstanding efforts. Hunt was good, not KP or Sharpe but good, Dom was brilliant, not just the hat trick. Gags so so, Best and Marzhew had big games but play was mostly right side. Solid.
Sharpe was a bit quiet but hopefully uninsured, hopefully better for the run. Smith had some very good moments but get him some goal kicking practice. JSaf, was very strong, led by example, Crossland, had a double bummer causing nose bleed but his effort is always great, Saulo, ok I was wrong, starting was a great move, his best game, one huge tackle. Still not a big ground taker and has occasional fumble. McEwen, his best game but still misses the odd tackle, did well for one of Doms tries. Lucas, sin bin was obviously a hearing loss, but was one of his quieter games but did score. Croker just seems to be getting better with more on field time. Frizell was his usual strong + a try. Can’t and Hopwood look a bit short, Hopwood should go back to Cup and build up. Graham, wow nice little cameo, looks good.
Bad luck at missing out on my MOT points, Best, Marzhew, Smith, Frizell.

Im sure Ponga can't wait to sign for the Dogs. AOB what an actual ****en loser
At this point I’m giving Blake Green back the benefit of the doubt. The Bulldogs attack has all the same issues we consistently had. Reeks of AOB being an overbearing micromanager as a head coach, whereas Ciraldo is delegating to him like all good head coaches do. The error in this case lies in Gould getting way too cute with the appointment.

The chatter on the Kennel was Ciraldo bringing in his mates. Which I found odd. But most posts on there are a little odd from the limited times I’ve popped in for ****s and giggles.

not sure if it's been mentioned here but I have to say Hopwood isn't close to being first grade ready yet. Look really off the pace and weak into contact. Still growing into his big frame. I hope the experience has fuelled his hunger however I think we need to look at some of the other guys in reserves to step in next time.

I don’t know if Green is Head Coach material but in that same assistance attacking coach, absolutely doable.

Isn’t he in huge demand from the Tigers too? Surprised Manly haven’t come knocking. Seems to have the reputation of an ATG coaching legend. I guess he has won four grand finals …

Watching the game back again. I think Peter Gough may be the worst referee in the game.

The Lucas sin bin is a disgrace. He was playing to the whistle. That’s what the coach tells you to do. There wasn’t one.

It can’t be sin bin because the referee forgot to blow the whistle. That is straight up not fair. I realise the referee can’t say “you know what, my fault” because that undermines him, but that’s honestly what happened, and it’s ridiculous that it did.

The bin is discretionary. Penalty sufficient. This would have then maybe half justified two hip drops and a blatant dog shot late hit not resulting in bins later in the game.

Gough shouldn’t see first grade again unless he shows a lot of improvement in NSW Cup.

I thought McEwen had his best game in first grade and he was involved in everything. His repeat efforts were excellent this afternoon and showed exactly why he’s ahead of Francis. Croker has been an unsung hero so far this year. I was impressed with Graham during the trials and his cameo tonight was a real turning point.

I knew I wasn't crazy about the no whistle thing. Insane that was a sin bin. Lucas obviously thought Tracey was still in the field of play.

Jermaine’s a work in progress with some areas in D in particular which will take time, but he’s so good at so many things many back rowers play their whole career without getting good at. Even very successful back rowers. He’s an outstanding prospect.

Interesting to hear the commentators telling us how good the dogs left side was, but that's where Dom scored his tries. I think this team still has a fair bit of potential to improve before we get KP and DB back. Graham and Hunt are still raw talents as are a few of the forward pack and from what I've seen this year the players are responding to the new Coach and his staff. It's so refreshing to see the team competing for the whole 80 minutes.

Last week it was Lucas that had apparently forgotten how to defend. No coincidence that was with Smith playing on the left. McEwen had a really poor miss on Burton and a few other questionable efforts with first up contact but a lot of the other stuff might have been a result of having to cover for a half who isn't exactly Trevor gillmeister?
