NRL Round 25 - Knights Vs Sea Eagles - 3:00pm Saturday, 22nd of August - McDonald Jones Stadium

Just checked player stats on NRL Sandon made 17 missed 1. Hunt 11 missed 3.

The biggest loss we are feeling now with DB his is defence on the right. He hits harder in contact and his ability to cut down players on his own creates less pressure on his inside and outside men.

Also can’t underestimate DL defence and high work rate. We noticed our outs in that game and I will throw Manu in that mix.

Outs - DB, DL, Gags and Manu. Even a couple of those boys in we aren’t leaking half those tries and creating more. It’s so much luck with injuries the NRL.

Only hope is Gags and Manu are back. Hopefully Manu can do a Leka style victory against the Wahs.

Probably been mentioned before but don’t care. Really didn’t want to have to play Rabbits first week of finals. Almost certain now.

Chooks will beat the rabbits in the final round, Cows will be favourites against tigers and Raiders at home which gets them 7th.

Edit. what lynchy said

Chooks will send out 4th string team. Rabbits by 14.
Cows won’t win last two. Last 3 games they got beaten by 70 points, beat the titans and got beaten by the Eels.

Yes nothing is certain but if the Knights are praying like you guys that this team beats that team so they don’t have to face this team then they deserve everything that comes to them.

They will be happy to be there and they will put their best foot forward regardless of who they face. They might win, they might not. Best not put the cart before the horse and just hope we get to watch some great football.

Edit: my spelling was terrible how did anyone understand what I was trying to say? 🤣

Roosters lose that game against rabbits they will come 3rd and have to play warriors in NZ first week of finals
Not a chance in hell they rest anyone let alone 4th string
Yep and the Roosters game is before the Warriors and Panthers game in the final round, so they really won’t want to risk anything without knowing other results.

It’s way too tight at the top this year for any sides to pretty much concede a home grand final qualifier.

The defence was up fast on Ponga, virtually offside, and it worked, he sometimes got the ball away but tackled and unable to backup potential break, it was obviously a tactic for Manly and disjointed our attack, created poor or error passes that handed Manly the ball. We needed to slow up and be more selective with passes using Ponga as a dummy and playing others. Manly didn’t beat us Foran did with a nothing to loose attitude
The way to solve that isn't really to slow up - it's to win contact and quick rucks. The defensive line speed can't be what it was if the defensive line is retreating/not set when we play the ball.

We got badly beaten because after a few easy tries, we didn't back it up with intent and physicality, and when that was obvious we also couldn't get ourselves back into the physical arm wrestle.

That's both more frustrating (because, just work harder and have a better attitude against a depleted pack), and less so (because it's very fixable).

I think the Warriors are a terrible match up for us through the middle, and we're unlikely to win next week away. But what I'm really looking for is that we learn from this game and take it to them much better than we did this week. JSaf having a game in his legs will be big for that, as will Hopwood being able to come off the bench rather than start.

Roosters must win there last 2 games now with the loss today to make the top 2
Not a chance there resting anyone now
Lost against the Tigers that the Cowboys were going to beat without a care in the world.
Park the good players for a round, enjoy the fact that you went from spoon to finals and have a red hot crack at making it to the second round with a fullish strength team.

Yep that’s why I keep saying that if Cody improves by as much as I think he’s going to, and Trey takes another step forward, a lot of what gets perceived as like character or “intent” issues in the team are instantly addresed. You watch the Warriors and when the game starts to turn on them, it’s basically like pressing a button to wrest control back. They ask key forwards to get back onside earlier in the count and they just start blasting holes through whoever is dumb enough to get in their way. Whereas we tend to need to do something special to break the game back open (the Wahs also have that “break the game open” ability via players like Halasima… did anyone know the Wahs are good?).

Maybe it was a wake up call the team needed. They really need to sort the errors out and get the defence in order. I thought we were in trouble as soon as Dom was sent off as it exposed Sandon. I though Crossland should have sent there to help and Graham brought on. Greg has some work to do as well, did not have a good game and he can expect to get targeted over the next few weeks.
