NRL Round 25 - Knights Vs Sea Eagles - 3:00pm Saturday, 22nd of August - McDonald Jones Stadium

Oddly enough, Manly play exactly like us in that they spread the ball constantly and chance their arm. It just happened to stick for them, we couldn't stop their second phase. But their physicality in defence was awesome, and they had some absolute liabilities to run at (Smith, Hunt etc).
Yeah they certainly turned up and were aggressive. Their edges in particular did a very good job of shooting up. Still think they could’ve been put away early if they’d just gone for the try instead of the two, think it would’ve taken the fight out of manly with one more try

Would’ve been interested to see Graham come on earlier and test out Jurbo with speed in the middle but he didn’t come on until too late weirdly

if Rabbitohs beat Warriors in this game a home finals is gone
Young and Friz definitely suspended for warriors game and potentially first week of finals aswell

Is persisting with Smith as much to do with goal kicking with Ponga not kicking.
Yes we are light on in replacing Smith at 7 but could have Crossland at 7 with Graham at 9 and Smith bench

Probably the most disappointing result/ effort in Holbrooks time at the club. There seemed to be no urgency or scramble in defence, and the attack was almost non existent in the second half.
I like Sandon as a halfback in attack, but man, his defence is ordinary, especially for a part time 9. We are missing Dylbros defence in the 7 big time.
We can’t fix it now at this late stage, so we just have to aim for scoring more points than we let in . I know that is the secret to winning any sport, but it might be Hail Mary time in the finals

Just a reminder of how unusual the Panthers are lol, they have been so prepared to go to war week on week & win 2-0 if they have to for years now.

Ponga nailed it after the game, we chased the good feeling of scoring. Have a habit of doing that. Need to get better about chasing a complete performance. Sometimes staying in 3rd or 4th gear in attack is what gets you a win by a bigger scoreline.
Was impressed that Ponga was so onto it right after the game. Just a matter of executing more in line with that, but at least they do know what they have to do.
