NRL Round 22 - Knights Vs Broncos - 7:35pm Saturday, 1st of August - Suncorp Stadium

If no Ponga I guess it has to be Hunt at fullback I guess. I think Votano has fallen off
He’s been excellent in NSW Cup. I’d prefer to keep Hunt in the centres, Sharpe at 6 and bring him in.
If no Ponga I guess it has to be Hunt at fullback I guess. I think Votano has fallen off the perch altogether.
Hmm…i guess someone on here don’t watch the games, but comment on things they have no idea about (fake as **** fan 🤣

Is there any indication Ponga will be back? Club seemed pretty tight-lipped in the lead up to this week in not giving too much away about his injury.

If he's unavailable do we consider Hunt to fullback? Or is it time to bring Votano in?

No Dylan x2 is not good news, Lucas was in the midst of a career best season. Sucks how the Rugby League Gods work..
Hearing that he is close but not confirmed.

Need all the experience to withstand the situation. Our two most available experienced fwds are Frizell and Jones followed by Mooney, you need ar least one if not two on the field at any time, that will mean around 40-50 mins each with Hopwood and Crouch giving us about 20-25 of good solid effort. Our 2nd rowers, likely Manu and ESL/Cant must only be used as 2nd rowers. Big task by all mentioned.
Think our back 7 will be ok whoever is fit and ready

As close to must win as this game is - it’s kind of all for not much if Ponga comes back and makes his quad niggle worse.

I have a theory. Ponga was pissed he missed so many kicks at goal. So did extras during the week and those extras have left him with “quad tightness”.

If he can play, and physios agree, great.

If he’s not 100% I’d rather keep him on ice and get him 100% so he can actually do Ponga things to get us wins.

Sounds like Gagai is back in, so Hunt would be the logical cover at FB if required.

I’d have been interested in seeing Hunt in centres and Votano get a run at FB. Or Hunt to FB and Winter to Centre.

Agree this Broncos game could go either way.
Largely depends what mood Walsh is in. If everything happens for them, at Suncorp, they could pile on points. But there’s a reason they are where they are, they’ve been horrible.

If we show up with the right attitude - we are here to battle through this game. I don’t think they have the motivation to stick with it for 80 minutes.

Risk is Broncos play like they have nothing to lose (and they don’t). Offloads on their own goal, chip and chase, all the easy options for yardage. Hopefully that attitude includes not doing the tough stuff as well.

If this was at home and they had to travel would be a gimme no way they'd be up for it, 50/50 chance they won't be or they do just that, I'd lean towards them being pretty demoralised and Madge doesn't seem the type of coach to be able to get them up with nothing to play for.

With his mentality he'll have them running sandhills all week lol.
