NRL Round 21 - Knights Vs Roosters - 6:00pm Friday, 24th of July - McDonald Jones Stadium

This game:
Really needed to convert more of that field position to points in the first half. But what a great effort under adversity. Such a deflating game though.

Moving forward:
As suspect as Sandon is in defence he is still a great creative half. I feel we are better positioned now than previously to cover an injury like Brown. Francis coming of age is a fair replacement for Lucas. I hope the boys don't drop their heads from these past 2 results. Making the finals this year will be a great result

Hard to see how it improves for us now, if you said at the start of the year we’d just missed out on the 8 I’d be thrilled but it would be so deflating after starting so strong.
Unfortunately there were a few players tonight who I just don’t think are ready for top grade. Hopwood needs to work on his agility. The days of big lumbering forwards is over, and unless he can turn it around he’s really going to struggle in first grade.
Smith I’m just not sure on either. He’ll get a chance to play first grade for a long time now so we’ll see how he goes. There are others in juniors coming through who can replace him in due course if it doesn’t work out.

I'm still optimistic. Ponga, Sharpe, Smith, Crossland is still a good spine. Smith just needs to remove some of those frantic plays from his game. Manuleleua huge game, he's no Lucas, but has some serious talent and slots straight in for Lucas, surely. Brodie Jones has always been a reliable player, thought he was among our best tonight.
