NRL Round 21 - Knights Vs Roosters - 6:00pm Friday, 24th of July - McDonald Jones Stadium

Genuinely curious as to how you’ve come to this conclusion, after his one game in first grade in a very poor team?
He is 190cm tall, you can count on a couple of fingers the number of players in the NRL who are 190cm or above who are athletically capable of being effective from FB.

But ignoring statistics, if the guy doesn't have the physical prowess to beat the D line with ease in Cup, he ain't doing in FG.

He'd make a better centre imo. I enjoy watching him play, he is super talented and getting better every week. But he isnt a FG fullback imo

Jesus we’re forlorn on here aren’t we.

Don’t get me wrong Ponga is a massive out but we’re still in this game up to our eyeballs. Their right edge is weak defensively and we gave them a bath with our reserve graders in Round 7.

Lucas, Sharpe and Braddy with Brown chiming in could give them a bath.

Ponga
Saifiti
Gagai
Crouch
McEwen
Saulo

Lots of injuries to cover a top 4 team...

Keeping my expectations in check...

Emotional week as well

Yeah I’m starting to feel a bit the same with Brown. Don’t get me wrong he has been great so far, but I think coming into finals he can step up a gear.

When I watched him in the PAC Champs he was killing it and as everyone agree’s he should have won the Golden Boot. But, the difference was he was playing behind a dominant forward pack, and I think Foz was a great halves partner for him.

Here at the Knights he doesn’t have that luxury. So the elevation of his game is to be able to be more dominant or turn momentum when we are on par or slightly losing opposition forward packs.

Hope we're competitive tonight. We have won this season without KP, but we'll need some of the boys to step up.

The other thing I hope is we get a fair shake. I don't think I can take another week where I'm kicking stones because we've lost by two after "the rub of the green" goes against us yet again.

I think the fact of it is, Brown is still learning how to be that dominant voice, it’s a pretty big change and it’s not going to happen overnight - it’ll take a few seasons.

That said he did win us a game a few weeks ago vs the Dolphins.

I also saw this just now which is interesting … not many questioning Sam Walker’s form, but these are very similar stats. Brown with a lot less line drop-outs (doesn’t help that we have barely made it into the opposition 20 for most of the season), but way more kicking metres.

Don’t think anyone is questioning Browns form I think all agree he is playing great, just also believe he can go up another gear and now would be the time to do that after back to back loses and no KP

Unless nswrl has wrong team sheet it says Francis is playing NSW cup so must be going with Cant as second row and ESL coming onto the bench
Bit puzzling

Is anybody there to confirm or deny this

Would be nice to actually get an impressive win but it’s now been quite a while since it’s happened.

Haven’t beaten anyone by more than 6 points since round 11 Magic Round. Not coincidentally that was the last round of crazy PVL ball.

Beating the Roosters without KP and JSaf would be a good way to get their season back on track and build some confidence. Another loss will make it 3 in a row, with them having to go to Brisbane and beat a desperate Broncos team.

Don’t think they’re in danger of missing the 8, think that’s basically sorted now unless something goes massively wrong.

Would love Brown to have a really dominant game, we know he’s capable of it. Realise it’s hard for a half to do with a forward pack that’s generally on the back foot. So in saying that would be a good game for Mooney to really have a big game as well.

Them playing for Scott Dureau actually makes me more nervous. They have a terrible history of “getting up” for a cause. Usually it has the opposite effect and leads them to being really flat. Hope I’m wrong, would love to be pleasantly surprised
