NRL Round 2 - Sea Eagles Vs Knights - 4:05pm Sunday, 15th March - 4 Pines Park, Brookvale

One thing I already like about Holbrook is his bench rotation in the first two games as mentioned by a few people but also knows how to get the best of the squad he's got and not force the team to play a style that they aren't suited to.

Also no idea why Manly played Wakeham over Walsh. Seen Walsh play in Napier live last month against the Warriors and was by far the best player on the field while Wakeham is a journeyman at best.

Seibold reminds me of AOB more and more.

The Rugby League media have banded together to give us zero credit for the win on Sunday. Apparently Manly’s performance was the worst ever (wasn’t even the worst of the weekend with the Cowboys being much worse the day before) and they lost the game. No credit for us for standing up without our two best players and key playmakers and thoroughly outplaying them.
Who’s missus have we rooted as a club to get so little kudos for a great win?

Does it matter? It’s better for us if we fly under the radar. Probably better for the players too, who have had a few good results go to their heads plenty of times before.

It shouldn’t matter but they get off on bagging us out when we suck, it’d be nice to get some respect when you win.
It’s probably me. I’m crook as a dog listening to footy podcasts hoping to hear something nice being said.

When the Raiders started winning last year no-one was talking them up whatsoever.

I think I'd rather us being seen as "under the radar" side for now. Even though our next few matches will all be a class above from what we've had so far.

True, I’ve had that search myself before (2023 probably) and not found a lot. ATM I’m just happy we’ve actually won a couple though haha.

Hope you get better soon!!!

We get talked up a bit on the “attacking play of the week” here.

Boom Rookies is a good podcast if you’re looking for an alternative to the rot in the mainstream media, both the main show and the one he does with Josh Reynolds. You can tell they watch every game (in fact they’ll admit it when they miss one rather than watch highlights then pretend). Have chatted with Matt Bungard a bit on social media, good dude, if a little bit of a ****** (takes one to know one).

The Brown pick I honestly don’t have that much of an issue with. Voss diminishes his output to “only had 5 runs” but those 2 try assists were pretty great, and as good as the rest of the team went I don’t think anyone had an individual highlight reel that matched Brown. If he had’ve played on and had a quiet second half it still wouldn’t have surprised me to see him get votes, so I don’t have a huge problem with it.

Olakau’atu and Frizell getting votes is egregious, and reeks of someone just looking at the try scorers before voting. Frizell wasn’t bad by any means but if I'm just comparing him to our other middle forwards I thought Saifiti, Mooney, Croker and Saulo were all better.

What’s the reason for keeping the voters anonymous?
Saves voters being accountable, and also to “select” points for their “preferred” players.
The same can be said about the bias bigotry from “commentators” and rugby league “experts”, mostly from Fox.
There is probably not a collective brain from the Fox team.
Great to watch football with no sound when Fox is the only option.
This keeps me very happy and leaves my mental health in a great place.

its more of a talking point with how bad the team is. Seibolds in the hot seat, Jurbo is toast but still getting big minutes, they have a bye then DCE comes to Brookie. We're getting enough wraps.

Does anyone know if Braith is one of the judges? That would be the ultimate conflict of interest.
