NRL Round 17 - Knights Vs Eels - 5:30pm Saturday 29th June - McDonald Jones Stadium

Last year I spent about a month pointing out that Clune was killing it in reserve grade, averaging 2 try assists a game and had us on a big winning streak, and no one wanted to know about it.
This year Pryce is averaging 1/2 a try assist a game and we are battling to avoid the spoon, and we just had our best performance for the year with him left out, and he's the answer to all our problems apparently.
You spent a month talking up Clune in the middle of Hastings and Gamble guiding the team to a 10 game winning streak. There wasn't a spot for him in first grade - and when he got called up through injury he played well, but clearly at a level below what pre-injury Hastings was giving us.

We're currently sitting 12th on the ladder and Jack Cogger is an incumbent half... I'd be very happy if Clune was still here as an option, but you're skipping over a lot of very relevant context

Hastings was playing injured and struggling more and more and Clune was on fire and at the top of his game.

Ponga was scoring maximum Dally M points nearly every week and pretty much carrying us.

The Ponga getting maximum points every single week was driven by the idiots who judge the Dally M’s barely bothering watching games in full.

Don’t get me wrong Ponga was great in the back half of the year but Leo, Fitzy, Best, Gags, Friz, Gamble, Crossland and Hastings were all in top form and deserved more points.

I wouldn't make any changes.
We have been playing well against the two sides who will probably play the grandfinal and we have a home game against a side we should beat and need to beat.
If we have to change, i'd go with Crossland at 5/8 and bring in Riley Jones, who seems to be running into great form and is good enough for 20 or 30 minutes off the bench.
Pryce is starting to look good, but I'd like to see 3 or 4 more good games.
I have pretty fresh memories of Pryce having a shocker in reserve grade a month or so ago that had me thinking he wouldn't be getting a game in reserves if he wasn't on a top 30 contract - so why throw him in for a game we can't afford to lose?
Billy I normally agree with you more than not.
But please point out any of Coggers positives this year for the Knights?

Well for the last 2 games he's been part of the squad that looks like it can beat Parra this week and bank 2 much needed points.

Makes sense. I'd be happy with the Crossland 6 and R. Jones solution.

I wouldnt be making any changes either for this week, but no chance Clune comes in for Hastings in the middle of that run last year storming to a home semi.

I do wish we kept him as insurance though.

Quite a few of Phoenix’s games in the 7 jersey came with Hoy at fullback and Randall at 9. I think his found his position at hooker, however we never really gave him a fair crack at becoming a solid first grade halfback.
He’s played 31 games in the halves in first grade, how many does he need before it’s a solid crack?

We won 12 of those 31 games, by the way.
