NRL Round 16 - Dolphins Vs Knights - 5:30pm Saturday 21 June - HBF Park, Perth

Unpopular opinion here but I wonder if this is part of AOB’s season management strategy. Keep it tight playing really boring football to conserve energy for the first half of the season then let the team have a looser lead for the second half.

Not defending him and not saying it is a good strategy but it does seem to be a trend we are repeating from previous years.

Ha ha. Come on man. If some of those losses were because of AOB’s strategy to conserve energy than that has to be the mentalist strategy a coach has ever put out there. 😆

As I said, not defending him but this is the third season in a row where we’ve played pretty defensively in the early part of the season and brought a more expansive game later on.

Or maybe I’m just getting carried away with myself after the victory earlier!

Think we are a bit harsh on Schiller, not easy playing different side and getting used to different passes from inside. Gagai and Best are totally different players so adjusting to them can take time. No doubt if Schiller played left wing for a while he would adjust where if Marzhew played right wing he would have teething problems with Gagai
I think given that Dom hadn’t played with the Knights for 18 months, he played about as well as I expected.
I think Dom will be much better for the run.

I recall someone saying that during the Manly game he either said (or the players just decided) to start throwing it around. Maybe we’ve looked better because of that. But definitely having Brandman and an interested KP helped a great deal today. Plus Cogger kicked really well and defended well too.

Was a yes and no game, yes we’ll win, no we won’t.
Big game that fluctuated but always in doubt, a game you want played by two other teams that don’t matter to you.
Have to say I have been a Brodie J fan for quite a while, he plays under the radar, does his job and is always close by in tackles or attack, yes not our best player, never is but I describe him as solid so I was so pleased that he scored the try, not a try but the winning try, congrats Brodie.
A great result without our best full team against a side going well with all 17 performing well
What I like about Brodie is that he seems to be, for the lack of a better term a real “footy player”

It not a coincidence that he happens to pop up in the right spots when as often as he does. He clearly has a high level of game awareness that allows him to anticipate how plays will unfold.

Also, he rarely makes errors and in a team with a number of players that can do the most inexplicably dumb **** you’ve ever seen, he never does.

In fact, there’s a number of players that probably would’ve stuffed up that last play but he remained calm and kept his ball carrying arm off the ground to get the try.

Like "throwing the ball around" is a new concept lol.

Just feeds back in to the every season starts with a memory wipe apparently.

It's like groundhogs year.

Coggers passing was good also.

Sucked in trying to lay down for a penalty enjoy the 15 minutes ya cat
Fantastic officiating
Pretty much word-for-word what I shouted out at the time! My 9yr old nephew, who doesn't understand the 15min HIA thing and was only attending his 2nd ever game (both Knights vs Dolphins in Perth!) had to ask what I was shouting about. I told him that the ref its making him get off the field for 15mins because he was lying.

I felt an obligation to, y'know, instill the kid with a good life lesson. Lying's bad, mmkay?

Fark of that's forward
I absolutely lost my s#!+ at the ref at that point. I haven't used the word '******' in, geez I dunno, many years, but it came out then! I think some of the kids gathered at the fence (we were 3 rows back from the fence) may have learned a few new words and phrases for the schoolyard on Monday..!

What an awesome win. I'm so stoked to have been there for this one today. My voice, only having recovered this morning from Wednesday's Origin game, is back to being absolutely cactus again. Probably worse than Wednesday night, actually.

After the game, we headed out the back of the stadium to wait by the team's bus to meet the players and get the young fella a few photos with them if we could. That hour we waited, the rain hammered down, soaking us (even with rain jackets on!), but then the players came out. My hat's off to them. Most of the players, despite the rain coming down, were happy to stop, meet us, get a photo with my nephew, and seemed genuinely good guys. It was touching to see, and I'm very thankful and appreciative to those we did get to meet tonight.

That was a f**ken unreal day.

Thankyou, Knights.
