NRL Round 14 - Storm V Knights - 2:00pm Sunday 9th June - AAMI Park, Melbourne

We have no halves capable of stepping up, so bringing in a better ballplayer at 1 makes sense.
True.
Sharpe is not anywhere near Ponga as a playmaker, but at least he is working on his playmaking skills and has had a few try assists in his last few games.
Davey rarely even passes the ball.
In short, Sharpe at least tries to play like Ponga, which means he might fit into our team structure a bit better.

I think in the end it was inevitable as Sharpe is the long term option.

Very excited for Sharpe, tough first initiation against Melbourne and Penrith, but doubt he'd have it any other way. Let hope forwards can lay a platform and he gets as good an opportunity Davey got.

Listening to SEN this morning. We have lost 17 straight games against a team coming first, we lose sunday we overtake university to have the most consecutive losses vs team coming first. Good times.
The Newcastle Knights always creating history.

So if this is true and Armstrong is dropped after one bad game where the entire team had a stinker is really unfair. Rather than drop the real problem Hastings who couldn't create anything let's drop the young bloke
That’s what I was thinking. One bad game and gone vs a string of bad games and a guaranteed jersey for a few other players. Some mixed messages being sent there

Think we may have just realised we need a ball player out the back. Its the one position we literally had a better prospect in cup.

Sharpe is 19.
He's played 6 games of reserve grade for 4 tries and 2 try assists.
I hope he has a great game, but realistically, it will just be a good learning experience for the kid.
He played in the SG Ball grandfinal last year, and oddly, in the Jersey Flegg grandfinal in 2022.

So your saying he will be playing in the nrl grand final this year🙏

Talking of the Flegg 2022 team, Sharpe will be the 5th to make firstgrade after Maps, Cant, Donoughoe and Riley Jones. Keeley was suspended for the GF but was the top forward for most of the year - so 6th from the squad..
