I thought there'd be a bit more discussion about this guy's form in the last few weeks. He's had the best couple of games I've seen from a Knights outside back in at least half a decade!

I hope we can hold onto him next season without breaking the bank. So unusual to see us making line breaks and setting up tries through our centre, from anywhere on the field.

He's also been great with attacking kicks when on the wing this year, but I think he's sealed a spot as our first choice centre, now.

I wasn't a huge Rossy fan until the last few weeks, he's really stepped up and got me well on his side. It really is so typical that he got hurt. :fist:

Welcome back...

Ross has always given 1000% which has also ended up in making simple mistakes!!!
Obviously some faith from Brown has made him feel like he belongs in the grade and is playing with huge confidence... Been very classy the past month or so... Since he took the leaping catch for a try he has boomed up a gear or two.

Welcome back brother, would like to keep him but lets not get too excited.

Effort has always been huge but his had what 2 blinders? If we can keep him for the right place for sure, but definitely let go if needed.

been our best the last 2 weeks and hoping that earns him a contract extension! Can definitely see him in our strongest line up!

He's been doing it in reserve grade for a few years.
His tackle break numbers in reserve grade were off the charts. Often as many as 16 tackle breaks a game, and topping the reserve grade stats for tackle breaks a couple of years in a row.
For a little guy, his upper body strength is crazy.
He has won us a lot of games in reserve grade.
In his time at the club he has added at least 10kg, possibly 15kg, and worked on a heap of skills he really hadn't bothered learning in bush leagues, because he didn't need to take high balls or tackle well to be a star at Kurri.
His best position would still be fullback, where he charges into the attacking line when he sees half a chance, and gives the defence a massive headache every time.

This time last year Ross and Mamo were sharing fullback duties in reserve grade. Mamo was learning, but Ross was miles better really, and Mamo was only getting time because he was a chance at playing firstgrade.

I'm surprized he has managed to fix most of the obvious faults he had in his game well enough to play firstgrade, but he has been the best attacking runner of the ball at the club since he got here.

Loving the ross dawg but he's going to get offered more money somewhere else and we would be crazy to match it for a bloke who is turning 28 with 15 odd nrl games.

Hope he gets a huge deal in the esl.

This gets said about every NRL player going over to England but Rossy really would carve up in the Super League.

I reckon Ross has got 4 yrs in the top grade left in him and you wouldn't sign anyone else for longer than that ...

It's funny you said the complete opposite when you talked up Mamo at the start of the season.

I put my hand up for being wrong about him. I didn't think he was up to FG after his performances in 2015 but he's been terrific this season. He's fast becoming my favourite player.

You're not the only one. I thought he would be a good depth player, but he's been really good.

Welcome back...

Cheers, good to be here! :)

That's two blinders more than anyone else has had in our team since Mad Dog left ...

I remember you always said how quickly he'd improved in the NSW Cup side ... and whenever I saw him play in that grade he carved up in attack. Amazing, but great, that he's continued that improvement into first grade this year. I remember in first grade last year he would often look like he was going to bust a tackle, but not quite do it. Now he busts tackles all the time, and makes quite a few line breaks too.

I have a feeling he might stick with us, since we gave him the chance and he seems to love the club. Hope he stays.

I've always liked Rossy as probably everyone knows so I'd be gutted if we let him go especially after his form to start the year. Didn't know what to expect when he was shifted to the centres but he has killed it. Definitely been our best back this year.

The other thing about Ross that I never picked up on till I heard commentators mention it when he hit firstgrade (ABC 1233 commentators) is that he is a penalty magnet. He struggles like a mad thing in every tackle, and defenders **** off the refs because they have to wrestle him for longer than the refs like.
It's just nice that one of our players gets more penalties than he gives away.

Same here. Been up and down with my opinion of him. First seen him reserve grade and asked who was that masked man ? Looked like a star. Then when he came into first grade I thought the best that could be said was that he'll never die wondering. Also thought he was a lair. Even after a few games this year I couldn't see a regular spot for him in the top grade. At the moment I admire everything about the bloke.

It'll be such a downer if we don't keep him, not only because he would still be salary cap friendly player but also he seems to add such a boost to our team morale, which is invaluable to our team atm.

Thing I respect about the bloke is he plays with pride, and wears his heart on his sleave..easily been our best this year overall..
