Mullen cleared, McManus out for a month

Personally what did we make of it? Some are saying it's season ending and others say it could be a week to week process.

The last two weeks must deep down be hell for the guy - he will definitely missed, hopefully it's not toooo bad. :doubt:

The doc reckons it's ankle, not achilles.

if it is achilles u can kiss his season goodbye, but apparently he tried to run it out which is a positive.
 
From all the news and reports, i'd assume he'd be lucky to make it back before the finals. The injury sounds pretty serious. It probably isnt achilles, most probably the ankle.
 
If it is season ending it is a big blow. They guy hasn't missed a game for the club since he debuted (except of course the week before Origin 1).
 
Newcastle and New South Wales winger James McManus has been ruled out for several weeks and will miss the second game of State of Origin and possibly the rest of the series.

McManus injured his ankle in the Knights' 13-0 loss to the Warriors in Auckland on Friday night.

The winger, who made his Origin debut in Melbourne, will get scans on Monday with Newcastle saying the injury is not season-ending as initially feared.

Very unfortunate injury, and I hope he isn't out for too long. His season really has gone downhill ever since he got selected for Origin.

It is a shame that he's out for so long - it didn't look so bad at first. You could see that he wouldn't have come back during the game, but I thought as he was trying to run it off, and the fact he walked almost unaided from the field that it wouldn't be that bad.
 
Usually the ones who don't look that bad are the worst, like when guys just run and their knee's give way, is sometimes more serious then when a player gets twisted.

However, I read today they think it will be a couple of weeks, and not season ending.
 
You're right there. I thought the same thing about Brent Tate's knee injury earlier this year, the fact that he walked off was encouraging, but alas, we've lost him for the year too.

Hopefully it is only a few weeks McManus is out for, as Knights need all the experience they can get at the moment to right this little lapse in form they're having after a really strong start to the season.

Dam straight MacDaddy, I got the jacket and the towel, next up is one of the cute teddy bears. I even had my Knights jacket in my bag in case I needed to wear it after the game last night, in a car full of Novacastrians on the way home!!
 
Forget maccas injury I read somewhere Mullen might be out for the season, gonna go for scans tomorrow to see the extent of the injury.
