Mathews and Ball 2024

One of Chase Butler's trys in Johns cup is featured on nswrl facebook.

He had a wow of a game.
Yeah he ripped hem apart this week, haven't seen that on previous Highlights. Keep going lad.

I have to say the number 11 for the opposition must be in the running for worst tackle attempt of the year. Butler literally ran into him and he made no attempt to tackle.

McKewn getting suspended has been costly for us.
We lost the grandfinal in Ball last year by 6 points with McKewn suspended, and McKewn would be worth at least 6 points to us.
I didn't see the incidents that led to his suspensions, but hard tackling forwards in the junior grades are an easy target for refs.
Kade Snowden spent a lot of time on the sidelines. He used to smash guys in tackles all the time, but only had to be an inch high and he was off for an early shower.

Only games on today are Matts and Ball.
Johns and Daley games on tomorrow.
We have byes in LF and TG cups.
Matts kicks off at 11.30 v CC Roosters at Charlestown.
Ball kicks off at 12.50 v St George at Charlestown

Cooper Votano is 18th man for Matts.
Jack Thompson (halfback) and Matt McKewn (bench forward) are out - so no high hopes for this one.

Knights 6 - 12 Roosters - 27 minutes to go
  • Lachlan Hails 31'
Couple of changes in Ball.
Blake Dorahy is onto the bench. He was Matts 5/8 last year and looked pretty good.

Won Matts 16 - 12

We are undefeated at the centre of excellence.

we are 2 from 4 in Matts and sneak into the 8 before other results are in.

Two comebacks by juniors. SG were down 14-0. Won 16-14 against a very fancied Dragons.
Good win over 1st place Dragons.
We jump to 4th and should stay there when others play because 3rd play 5th, and if 5th win, we'll jump over current 4th on for and against, but also get jumped by 5th - so basically - we'll be 4th either way.
We play winless 2nd last placed Manly next week, and have a bye up our sleeve.
