Im thinking its probably cause he has played about 3 games in 4 years?

What Souths do with their recruitment and retention is their business.
I'm interested in what they Knights do, and giving largish contracts to 36 year olds to play a handful of games a year isn't smart business.

Yesterday was vintage Mad Dog and he had me out of my seat on more than one occasion, it was good stuff. But it's only one game.
I would have preferred to use that money for something else, say front load Lulias contract so we could keep him next year, rather than contributing to the Mad Dog retirement fund.

Isn't 36.Doesn't play for the Knights. Not sure why he's being mentioned?
Players get injured and miss games, it's life, get over it (or give the Knights your time travel machine so they can go into the future and see who's gout to get injured next year, and not sign them).

Added after 4 minutes:

As for Lulia leaving, the signing of Tahu has more to do with that. Plus the fact that Stone barely gave him a shot in first grade until halfway through this year.

I don't think staying here was ever an option for him.

And Mad Dog is injured more than most. The ROI for his contract this year is poor at best.
I hope he can stay healthy and improve it somewhat.

Ps. Don't need a time machine to know he'd be injured most the season. He's averaged 12 games a year (including rep games) over his career so he's been sitting on the sideline more than he's played.

Andrew Johns would have had a similar average over the last five years of his career. So I take it you have the same feelings about him, and would have preferred we released him after the 2001 gf win?

Either you want the best players in your side come your biggest game of the year, or for some reason you don't. Injuries are irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. I don't see any point in debating it any further, we just have different views on this.

Well given performances this year if we did have our best players in our side for that game, Maddog wouldnt be one of them.

MacDougall still has the ability to be great for us this year, being his last year he will want to finish strongly, don't write him off just yet!

Yes, as shown by Ciraldo's selection in people's starting sides last week, and MacDougall's this week, most people on here don't have the ability to remember a player's performance or their own opinion from more than a week ago. I must be one of the rare ones who can recall what a player has produced from a previous season.

But you forget how much Wes sucked previously!

*ducks for cover*

Nah I was one of the few who always rated Naiqama. Mozza and I are all I can remember who did.

I remember this time last year and probably a few rounds earlier that Mad Dog had some injuries and missed a month or so, people wrote him off, he had a blinder one day and kept it up. Shame we were playing catch up footy by then but lets hope he can stay on the field for as long as possible until the end of this season if its his last.

But James you obviously dont have a life or were one of those blokes that never quite had the ability to cut it as a footballer and is living his life through a fantasy forum.
Mate fair dinkum this is an open discussion, where people can get on here and bag who they want when they want so get off your high horse and please stop with the self opinionated comments about other forum users comments.

Anyone else think that the Mad Dog is one of the hardest guys to contain if he gets the ball early with space?
That's what's confusing me - why doesn't he play deeper all the time and get those long passes from Mullen? A few times he's almost in line with Mullen, hence resulting in a few dropped balls.

Not a criticism at all - I'm just excited at the prospect of how dangerous he could be if he keeps his form up!

Interesting fact... In the Titans game 7 out of his 9 runs resulted in a missed tackle by the opposition.

Believe it or not.

Rogers has been getting it since he signed, and hopefully isn't in the plans for next year, such a terrible player, all his bagging is deserved
