Let's be honest its time for our team for 2021!

Can’t see Mullen coming back. He would bring too much of a media circus. Like he isn’t the innocent 18 year old anymore. You’d have a field day if the press got images of the boys out having a (nose) beer.

We have a good bunch of blokes, or so it seems. Mullen didn’t work out here then, why would it work now? A 4 year drug ban and addiction later? Hardly the thing to play anyone into form.

He just wants him to concentrate on his defence in the off season.

I'm ok if they want to use what we have, but why Hoy at 5/8 seems like an odd choice
 
Hoy has a lot of X factor and he is a very good athlete.
His defence is the area he needs to work on - as the article points out.
He is used to being an outside back or fullback and doing 4 or 5 tackles a game, and he has always been seen as a bit weak.
He also needs to work on his kicking game.

I don't know where that leaves Crossland, who is younger than Hoy and already seems to have all the skills Hoy needs to work on, and is just as fast and fit as Hoy.

Article makes it sound like Crossland and Watson will be fighting it out for the bench utility spot
 
Reckon Mann might be put in the centres at Shibs’ expense and the 14 probably goes to Watson. Crossland to cover for either of the halves.
 
I actually don't mind this, O'Brien has shown he understands we need a good ball player at 5/8 and would have seen enough from tex to think he can do it. People talk alot about Hoy at the 9's but i think his most impressive performance was against the panthers. After losing everyone he backed him self and became the alpha dawg.

That confidence was super impressive and his kicking game imo was best on field. With an off season I can see him like a Munster light sort of player.
 
Read the Toohey article and he talks up "project Hoy", but finishes by saying "Crossland is in the same boat" - so I'd say they are both in the frame for 5/8, and IMO, Crossland is a year younger but about 2 years ahead in developing the skills needed for 5/8.
It's a good position to be in - they are both great prospects.
Toohey also says that Furner is going to leave for "family reasons", most likely to be assistant at Canterbury. He says Furner is very popular with the playing group, and unnamed people at the club are not enthusiastic about replacing him with Seibold because of the baggage Seibold brings.
 
Seibold won’t be in the limelight like he was at the Broncos plus it will be O’Brien’s call if he wants him there or not.
That said Seibold could just end up taking a break. He just got $1m Or so to not coach the Broncos.

He will literally have nothing to do with the media and the only times we will see him on TV is probably the coaches box.

If he has a contract we are idiots to let him go..instant replacement if obi fails.
 
Lino went ok, if we keep him he is the guy if we don’t buy a Foran etc. Next best is Crossland with Mann if we don’t need him at 9 or 14 then Watson and/or Hoy with both a bit to do at permanent 5/8, they need some work.
