Potentially, if our attack is good, our defense is under less pressure. It was evident in the first year Pearce was here how much it hurt when he was out.

We are nearly averaging a try less in PPG this season (so far) compared to last year so imagine how much better off the defence would be if the attack was better.

But to be fair we don't have a man named Andrew Johns anymore, who you could play Peter Griffith next to him in 5/8 and he would still kill it.
 
So i hate to be the person to bring this up again, but just watching inside the nrl Jamie soward was saying he thinks foran will end up in Newcastle but seemed quietly confident like he knows something. Tbh I'm starting to feel like where there is smoke there is fire...
 
It wouldn't suprise me if it happened on No play no pay match payments he would take all the pressure off Pearce .
Im not saying it should or will happen but it could be good if it did .
Personally i like the look of young Crossland and think its time for him to have a couple of games at 5/8 to show his stuff.

Haha it's not real NRL. Can't just pay people match payments at the top level. Foran's body is the problem not his skillset. I also would like to move onto the next crop but we really don't have leaders in the halves department. Pearce is experienced but I don't see him possess the skills needed to "teach". Cooper Cronk or AJ need a spell in Newcastle.

Soward has great inside info, I suppose he's right on the money with this one. Welcome Foran!
 
Based on our current, fully fit, we really only have a weakness at 5/8, not saying we couldn’t improve other positions, if Pearce has only one year to go then signing a 5/8 is essential unless we want to let 2021 slide by with a possible top 8 position but unlikely top 4. Only other position that might be short is middle forward with losing Ese’ese and possibly Glasby, if we lose Glasby we could use a replacement, Saulo is getting there, not sure King will, both capable replacement. Hooker is ok if curse doesn’t continue, Brailey covered by Mann, Watson (has he been re-signed), Randall and Huth. We have Ponga, Hoy, Toa, Lee, Best, Tuala, Hunt and Shib, covering 1-5. Our forwards are strong 8-13
 
So Jarrod Mullen officially applying to the NRL to be reinstated....thoughts?

I always thought he would be awesome with Pearce, would love to see him back.

He was on his way to playing with Catalans before being suspended.
I suspect he would take a job in the ESL if he got cleared to play again.
He might go alright.
 
With the amount of hamstring and calf injuries this season so far Mullen would only need to put his footy boots back on before his sh*t the bed and say no thank you.

Any club considering him need to have their front office sacked on the spot.
 
I've got no problem with him coming back, when fully fit he looked so strong. Even behind our ****ty pack that he had to play with for years.
In saying that, I can't see him being back to any kind of form given all the **** he's gone through in the past 4 years unfortunately.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing him back, was a strong defender and had an incredible kicking game which is something we really lack.
 
I still remember the game against Manly. Pretty sure it was his last.
He ran a hole was in space about to put us in the lead, there was no one that was going to catch him.
And it was just like he got shot by a snipper with no one near him.
Heart breaking stuff.
He didn't score and we lost.
All down hill from there.
 
Skill wise the guy had it all, I can completely understand why he was named the next Joey. Strong defensively, good kicking game, good running game, brilliant right pass. Only thing he lacked was a team around him, and a healthy body... Everytime he got back to form, he'd pick up another injury.
 
I guess good luck to the guy, but I can't see Uncle Phil and the Wests Board allowing him around the place following his further problems whilst on suspension .
