They'll want him to keep match fitness up for the test match.

That alone is a good reason for Australia to have the fixture. And it is a huge boost for PNG each year. Personally I'd add another game on against say, Fiji residents, Cook Islands, or someone like that ... and NZ should do the same thing each year, too.

People at the game say 25k cramed into the ground and another 10k outside - with 10s of thousands more not even bothering to try.
