Knights release Jesse Ramien

You can only ever blame one person for a bad attitude.

Seems like every bit of new info can be twisted in to Browns fault.

Last thing we need right now is a coaching merry go round a la Titans.

Ramien came here as a SOO prospect but under Browny's guidance he has been ineffective & looked disinterested. If I was him I'd be a bit peeved that Mann got to get a crack at about 8 positions yet didn't set the World on fire & still gets picked, yet Ramien couldn't even get one game on the left side to get some decent ball & maybe make an impact.

I really think Brown needs to change the way Ponga plays. Our whole attack is too predictable & one dimensional & in the mean time Tedesco, RTS, Turbo Tom & CNK have all easily passed Ponga in the fullback stakes & have a much bigger influence on every game they play.

Our attack is fine. He did change the way Ponga plays and we sucked. Our team should be based around our Ponga. Ramien has been dirty from the start because he could have signed a bigger contract.

It's a myth that Ponga failed at 5/8.
He was one of the best in the side and improving rapidly.
Watson and Mann failed at fullback, so Ponga went back to fill that hole, but Ponga is the only person in our squad who could be a top class, match winning 5/8. He has all the skills required.

Yeah you’re right, probably the wrong choice of words for Ponga. But as a whole we gained more with him at the back. I reckon missing the Drinkwater signing hurt us

I think you nailed it Packo! Ramien never got over that he could have got more money elsewhere.

LOL someone posted on twitter our losing streak = sack brown, our winning streak = pearce is on fire, lose a few = sack brown he can't coach!

If we go down to Manly that will be 11 loses from 12 games either side of the winning streak. Great result.

After 19 games we were on 18 points last year. Exactly the same as this year.

The whole situation makes you really despise some player agents doesn't it? From Gardner's comments, it sounds like Ramien's agent was contacting other teams before permission to negotiate was granted. I imagine Ramien was initially very keen on coming here to be a starting centre and closer to his daughter, but since then his agent has been in his ear that he could be earning far better money elsewhere. He's only 22 and I imagine fairly easy to persuade with talk of money. I'm sure there are good agents around, but the ones you hear about the most are absolute stains.

I respectfully disagree. Ponga is as safe as houses under the high ball, reads the defense extremely well, can attack from anywhere and sets up plenty of tries. Nobody has a better step than him.

The others are all classy players and deserve their accolades, but I reckon the majority of clubs would choose to sign Ponga over any of the others if all were available.

Who knows that may be exactly how it has gone. Pearce finds career best form and off that we win games. But when he struggles at all, so does the whole team. In the games either side of that winning period thanks to Pearce's form, would you say we looked a well coached side?

And on Ramien, there was talk about him wanting to back out on his deal before he even got here iirc.

It all goes together.
We only have 1 genuine playmaker, and that's the way the coach has put the team together.
If Pearce fires, it all works.
If Pearce doesn't fire, it all goes to ****.
That's how the team built by Brown works.

That's the crux of my many issues.

Have a look at the Tigers side last night. Bunch of nobodies plus a few geriatrics on their last legs. Pretty well coached though.

Yeah, I watched it, up until about 15 minutes in to the second half and switched it off as it was clear Cows were not going to put up much resistance. They played like a committed bunch, got through their sets, got good kicks away. Always looked like the knew what was going on and what was expected next.

Can't say that about our lot.

Maybe he shouldn’t have signed a deal then if he didn’t want to leave. It’s not rocket science.

He signed when he only had a couple games from memory, 250k as a rookie to play as a starting centre is a no brainer. Then he had his breakout year at the Sharks. He has looked pretty disinterested all year so I wouldn't put it on Brown, maybe he just has a poor attitude.
