Knights release Jesse Ramien

Agree if his attitude is to spit the dummy because he's dropped seeya. Look at the culture at the storm with Curtis Scott just gets on with life after being dropped that's what I believe Browny is trying to build here.

Definitely. If he wants out, I'm sure there are no hard feelings. He has great potential but simply hasn't lived up to expectations since coming here. Between Musgrove, Bradman Best, Star Toa, Mitch Andrews, Kiah Cooper and Tex Hoy, we've got some exciting prospects in the outside backs coming through who could be pushing for spots soon.

Mate we better go looking for a strike centre if we want to win a premiership. None of those guys have played first-grade & probably half of them will never make it, let alone become high quality first-graders. At first when I saw this news I was going what are we thinking, but obviously something major has gone down for them to release him so fair enough.

How's our strike rate at turning these outstanding juniors into very good first graders ?

We Really need to re-sign Hunt and SKD

If Jesse really wants to kick up a stink for being dropped he should watch these two guys rip in every week. So hypothetically we are forced to pay him for the rest of this year I take it there is 250k odd freed up for 2020 to keep hunt?

We've had a few good hits with Fitz, Sione, Saf x 2, although plenty of misses as well. They might all turn out to be average at best, but they have potential to be very good for us. Agree with Joshhh above that we should search for a strike centre though, one that hopefully turns out better than Ramien has.

Wasting our time searching for a strike centre if we cant get our right side firing. Just be a repeat situation.

Be better getting a good 5/8 or moving Ponga and getting by with Moga and Hunt with possibly buying a similar type to Hunt.
A good 5/8 will have centres playing better a bad 5/8 will have good centres playing badly. We need to prioritise

That depends on if the rest of the squad are sick of Brown also.

Has to be a reason we have only won 4 home games this year, he cant seem to get the best out of the team and how many times do we pin the blame on player attitude before we look to Brown.

Wests have already said Brown will be coaching next year unless some calamity happens. When do we consider the season a calamity?

If the squad doesnt turn it around right now, we will finish the year with two more wins only.
Well said mate, if we cant turn this season around with this squad surely that comes down to coaching.
Like others have said before Ponga would killing it other teams and probably Ramien aswell, guess this month will tell (i really hope Browny and the team make me eat my own words)
My point is how many players leave like Ramien and others rumoured before we realise its the coach.

A very interesting Barry Toohey article has just been posted on the Herald website.

Phil Gardner has said that Jessie does not want to play for the Knights we don’t want him. Gardner also questioned Ramien’s commitment to the Knights.

Hunt will be resigned and they will look at signing another player.

How niceforh
Kenty just said on Matty's show that the playing group has been angry at Ramien for a while now and sick of him not having a go and Brown has finally acted on it.

If thats the case, Brown should have acted sooner. He really should have acted sooner anyway given Ramiens form, not that I place all of the blame on Ramien for that.

And if thats the case, I would expect to see a much more competitive squad this week then, given they have their wish and Ramien is gone!

So reports at start of the year with him unhappy at the Knights turned out to be correct. Maybe he didn’t want to leave the Sharks after all after his season last year.

With Ramien's departure we get to resign Hunt and hopefully another decent outside back.

Also it will make it clear to other players who are not putting in like they should that they will be shown the door.

Ramien came here as a SOO prospect but under Browny's guidance he has been ineffective & looked disinterested. If I was him I'd be a bit peeved that Mann got to get a crack at about 8 positions yet didn't set the World on fire & still gets picked, yet Ramien couldn't even get one game on the left side to get some decent ball & maybe make an impact.

I really think Brown needs to change the way Ponga plays. Our whole attack is too predictable & one dimensional & in the mean time Tedesco, RTS, Turbo Tom & CNK have all easily passed Ponga in the fullback stakes & have a much bigger influence on every game they play.
