Knights possible targets for 2020

If we were to loose SKD, he certainly plays with heaps of effort, then could switch Lee to outside Ramien with Moga and Hunt on left side and if young guys Best and Toa, keep improving we could be ok.
Need to find a good 5/8 with Watson being our utility, we are strong enough in most other positions such as forwards so don’t waste money concentrate on most needed position(s).

We have lots of backs coming through - Star Toa, Bradman Best, Brayden Musgrove, Mitch Andrews, Heath Gibbs, Timanu Alexander, but one guy who has had a great start to reserve grade so far is Kiah Cooper - 5 tries in 6 games and a reputation of having the best sidestep at the club apart from Ponga.
I think we can find 1 firstgrader for next year out of that lot.
Whats the go with him Billy. Been to a few clubs and not got a start. Is he defensive liability?

I can't see anything wrong with him, but you never know how he'll go in a higher grade. He is having a dream run outside Moga, who keeps setting him up for tries.

Sounds like the Moga injury isn't a serious one for the normal player, but for Moga I think they'll take extra precaution.

Doesn't look like there's much quality on the market, I'd be happy to keep the same squad for next season and hopefully pick up a 5/8

Well, we've still got one spot to fill in the top 30 for this year, and we will need to replace Ross next year. Buhrer and Griffin might not be re-signed. Plus Levi and Stone might be pushed out.

That's a 20% turnover potentially.

Ideally Watson proves to be the right fit which I still think his a great chance of being and we have money for another wrecking ball forward.

I still think we could do with a better hooker,
One with a kicking game, passing game amd running game.

Would love to see Stone with another 5kg at lock in first grade.

Don't we have 2? Who came in for Ross?

Hopefully, but I just don't see it, he doesn't look comfortable kicking or ball playing and considering Ponga's kicking game isn't probably where it needs to be as a No.2 kicker we really need another option on 6th tackle.

I'd like to see Watson given a decent run at hooker

Passing his fine, kicking his rubbish but we have Ponga and Pearce for that, if he can provide the support runner role and through the odd pass when he needs too(decent try assist record ATM) his more than fine for what we need.

Brock Lamb??
Billy would have his first hard on in 20yrs

The bloke who looked like he had cement in his boots trying to keep up with first graders last year when we finally had a first grade team lol.

I felt bad for the kid he looked that bad, not to mention Brown tried to give him a filler role off the bench that he still couldn't handle.

Like Ross a park footballer who looked good when surrounded by park footballers.

Happy to give him the rest of the year in the No.6 and happy to proven wrong, but I don’t rate him there.

The way I read the development player rules this year, we can pick them for firstgrade after July 1, and like most clubs, we have kept 3 positions open and have a lot of guys trialling for the spots. I think Chris Randall, Jacob Gagai and Kiah Cooper are all basically trialling for a spot in our final 36, along with Tex Hoy, Mitch Andrews and maybe that prop from Wyong whose name I've forgotten.
We could also reach out to any player in the NSW or Qld cup if their club would release them, or if they are unsigned right now. I think they just have to be under 23 and a rookie, so Tom Starling, Tyrone Amey, Braden Robson is killing it at hooker for Wests - or someone we have never had here before.
